No the OP's original post did!Your comment turned this thread into yet another tiresome debate on the covid subject as it was intended to do.
I'll leave you and the other posters to it.
No the OP's original post did!
Don't be naive. The original post would not happen without covid, so naturally someone will say something about it.
Don't act outraged. As if that's changed anybodys mind on the internet.
I agree that more should have been done to shut the borders down, especially to China. It would also have taken more of a worldwide effort in that regard.Let's not forget to thank the big dummy and all of his supporters who did as close to nothing as inhumanly possible to allow that virus to enter our country and run rampant through us.
Why would I put stock in what “the Irish post” says? Don’t care what some globalist dork who wrote that says. All these other countries just want to make gullible idiots here think that we owe them something.
Good questions, pics from Wuhan pool party and New Years celebrations can be found everywhere. Add this question as well. Where did the flu go? THESE are eye popping numbersAnd this is another issue. I don't trust the reporting from place to place. Sorry.
India has 1.3 billion people. It is a country with extreme poverty, extreme population density in certain cities like Delhi and Calcutta. Yet, their COVID numbers are way, way better than not just the United States, but most places across the Earth.
If the numbers are true then I have a few questions. Have they been standing 6 feet apart? Have they been sanitizing everything? Have they been wearing masks properly as well as washing and disposing of them properly? Did they have a strain on their healthcare system?
What were they doing that prevented the outbreak from exploding?
Have you had the 2nd dose yet? That’s the rough one. IF the medical field expects more people ‘to take it seriously’, then they need to lead by example. The medical field is refusing the vaccine. Over 50%, I could understand 5-10%, not over 50%. I known a bunch that are eligible that have received it but these places giving the shot aren’t being forthcoming, thus, more distrust. Not a single one has told anyone I know the risks and potential side effects. I do understand that’s a double edge sword. Some may change their mind, but the truth needs to be told to them. Last point, no idea on side effects from J&J, but the Moderna vaccine seems to have less severe side effects than Pfizer, no deaths associated with Moderna that I’ve seen.I hope you're kidding- what will you do if the day comes when the vaccine will become mandatory? We had ours almost a month ago and no feathers or scales. I think more people need to take this more seriously but then people have choices of which I totally respect but then respect those of us that have made our choice to take the vaccine.
Do not care and did not read. Your party does not believe in biology. I don’t want to hear about science from any liberal out there.
From best(1) to worst(98) the U.S. ranks 94 in this study.
Covid Performance - Lowy Institute
"The Lowy Institute is an independent think tank founded in April 2003 by Frank Lowy to conduct original, policy-relevant research about international political, strategic and economic issues from an Australian perspective. It is based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. While the institute has alternatively been described as "neoliberal",[1] "centre-right" leaning[2] or "reactionary",[3] officially, its research and analysis aim to be non-partisan, and its active program of conferences, seminars and other events are designed to inform and deepen the debate about international policy in Australia and to help shape the broader international discussion of these issues.[4]

Methodology
In approaching the task of measuring the comparative effectiveness of countries’ handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of criteria are relevant. Fewer reported cases and deaths, both in aggregate and per capita terms, point towards a better response to the virus. More tests conducted on a per capita basis reveal a more accurate picture of the extent of the pandemic at the national level. Lower rates of positive tests, meanwhile, indicate greater degrees of control over the transmission of COVID-19.
To gauge the relative performance of countries at different points in the pandemic, this Interactive tracked six measures of COVID-19 prevalence in countries with publicly available and comparable data. In total, 98 countries were evaluated in this Interactive in the 36 weeks that followed their hundredth confirmed case of COVID-19, using data available to 9 January 2021. Data was extracted from the Our World in Data series, which is maintained by researchers at the University of Oxford and the non-for-profit Global Change Data Lab.
Fourteen-day rolling averages of new daily figures were calculated for the following indicators:
Collectively, these indicators point to how well or poorly countries have managed the pandemic. An average of the rankings across the six indicators was normalised for each country to produce a score between 0 (worst performing) and 100 (best performing) on any given day in the 36 weeks that followed their hundredth confirmed case of COVID-19.
- Confirmed cases
- Confirmed deaths
- Confirmed cases per million people
- Confirmed deaths per million people
- Confirmed cases as a proportion of tests
- Tests per thousand people
A score of 100 indicates that a country achieved the best average score across the six indicators compared to all other countries examined at a comparable point in time. Conversely, a score of 0 indicates that a country had the worst average score at a given moment during the pandemic.
Performance by types of countries was calculated by taking the average score of all countries that fell into the relevant category, where categories were determined based on the criteria set out below.
Regions were determined on the basis of commonly classified geographical groupings. The designation of political systems is based on The Economist Intelligence Unit Democracy Index 2019, with democracies comprising full and flawed democracies. Countries were considered to have a large, medium, or small population size if they had populations of over 100 million, between 10–100 million, or fewer than 10 million, respectively. The categorisation of advanced and developing economies follows the designations used by the International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook.

Nah man, not what I’m referring to. Can men be women? Dem party doesn’t believe in the biology of gender at birth. Hence, an executive order allowing men to play women’s sports. Can I decide tomorrow that I’m actually a woman?Lol, their party doesn't believe the science of unborn babies. I love how they pick and choose what science we're to believe
Curry? And this is another issue. I don't trust the reporting from place to place. Sorry.
