How is that ? Tressell - fired === Carroll got out before he could be fired -- Paterno was fired -- Chip Kelly out before the hammer -- Calhoun - retired -- only Saban and Calipari are bulletproof from the NCAA

I never knew how it all went down with the whole Bruce getting fired thing. Thanks for the breakdown. Seems a bit much to fire someone for that, maybe some sort of suspension or something.

Pearl = 3 year show cause

Tressel = 5 year show cause

Paterno = nothing but a job loss

Kelly nothing, Calhoun, Nothing, Carrol, nothing, and now because of the NCAA screwing up, Miami will probably get nothing.

You Make it to where Kelly and Carrol have a show cause if they ever try to come back to the college game, you do tons of possible things with calhoun (I'd just take away some wins like they did Penn state) and miami. hahaha miami.

What pearl did compared to any of them is nothing. any argument otherwise is just ignorant.

Didn't Pearl violate NCAA rules, called a press conference to say he wouldn't do it again...wound up doing it again, then tried to lie his way out of it?

I think he has gotten a lot of calls for OSU that won games. Charge call on ISU to name a recent one. I also feel he gets away with a lot of subtle handchecks and reach ins. But he's a baller and one of my fav. players to watch even if I hate him.

Look, if the NCAA sports of basketball and football are going to be run as big business focused not on ensuring that the "scholar"-athletes are either scholars or formed into good, upstanding individuals, then you hold onto a coach who brings in the revenue, even if said coach is a lying sack of ****.

The basketball program flourished under Pearl, who is a weasel. The football program floundered under Dooley, who, according to most reports, is a really upstanding and decent guy. But, don't act like the UTAD is in any way concerned with decency: they want wins, as does the vast majority of the fanbase.

Yeah I was surprised by some of the locals here when all the BP stuff was going down.

There was no way Pearl could remain employed.

The cover up was worse than the crime.
