I still think we can run the table?

On the very slight chance we run the table, I DOUBT we would reach the title game. Sorry, it just won't happen this year.

I can bet there will be two. And even if there isn't there will be a few one loss teams, and I dont think we will be one of them.

Im guessing Ohio State, USC, and West Virgina will go undefeated. I didnt think USC would til what happen to ND against Michigan. I thought ND would beat USC til then. I think WV has a pretty easy schedule.

I'm not convinced that we can "run" anything, much less the table, at this point.

Even if nobody is undefeated, do you realllly think we'll be ahead of the numerous other 1 loss teams there will be (OSU, WVU, Louisv, Auburn/LSU, Texas, USC)?

I'm glad most of us have high expectations for the Vols year after year. I ate a lot of crow last year so I kept my NC expectations to myself this year. However, anything is possible including a not so good outcome this year but I still believe and still have very high expectations like a good Vol should. IMO we should always have high expectations of our team. When we stop, that is when we have real problems.

it's a long season....and unless Auburn or Florida goes undefeated, no one from the SEc will be playing for the NT....

What in the wide world of sports have you been smokin? Did you see our Offensive line Sat night? Have you seen our schedule? We will lose to Georgia and LSU for sure...they will pimp slap our O and D line around like they own us.....our poor recruiting efforts are starting to show up. Wake up man!

Why not? U dont always have to go undefeated to win the national title.

I very seriously doubt that the Vols will run the table. The Oline has serious questions and the defense is young and inexperienced. I understand the whole "glass is half full" mantra but come on let's be realistic.

I like the optimism, however, you must have missed the LSU-AUB game. In the event that we make it to the SECCG (still losing to LSU) we will again lose to AUB. I called 11-1 at the beginning of the season, I am calling 10-2 now...

U.S.C will run the table. Their schedule is very easy and nobody can match up with them. I look for them to play Ohio State or West Virgina in the championship game.

Our defense is not that young. We are losing Harrell, Mcbribe, mitchell, mcGlothen. Our defensive front could be in trouble for next year. Mainly at the defensive tackle spot.

Mapu, Mitchell, Ayers, Bolden, Fisher, Karl, McCoy, Mayo, Wilson,...

I expect next year's front 7 to be even better. The question mark will be how to replace Wade and Stewart in the secondary.

Better? I hope so, they are pretty average right now. I don't see star power written on Mapu, Mitchell, Ayers yet? And Bolden seems to be a complete bust so far.

the problem this year is inexperience, not necessarily old or young...and experience they'll get this year....which has to help going forward....by all rights, we should be a deeper team next season...

You can be 10 deep with average talent and that will not help.

i think they're talented, they really just don't have a ton of experience up front...they'll get better...they're not absolutely awful right now..they're fast, they can hit, they just need to learn more and you do that by getting game experience...

Mapu started for the Vols as a sophomore while in competition with those guys who went pro last year and Harrell if I a not mistaken.

The mission thing seems to have left him out of shape but on that ridiculous roughing call he was pushing one of UF's linemen back into Leak's face. I think Mitchell and Ayers have played pretty well.

I'm not exactly sure how you justify calling a guy a bust after the third game of his Soph year. He might not be where you'd hope but he is in competition for playing time so I am not ready to write him off.

In competition for playing time? And who are these All Stars keeping him from this playing time?
