I will say this about Coach Cal. I honestly think that as a fan base, a lot of people might be wrong about their assumptions of him. All I have seen this season is him speak highly of our new coach, coach the hell outta some freshman kids and get them to play team ball, and raise the level of the SEC. Not to mention his hair is so slick.
Still a renowned and proven cheater. Don't respect him, but give home props on recruiting great talent and having a roster with 6 nba caliber players. That takes work and skill but I still think a top 20 coach out coaches him every day. It just takes comparable talent to get the job done. Nobody had that this year
No offense, and I don't want to sound like billy the bad ass here, but it's not real hard to tell Davis to rebound and dominate. I mean the dude gets his hook shot whenever he wants, and he's a natural rebounder/shot blocker. Top that with the return of Terrence Jones and Kidd-Gilchrist coming in and you're set. Great, talented players make good coaches look great. When Cali takes a team of three stars and 2-3 4 star guys to the NCAA finals and win then I'll say he's a great coach. Cali is a great recruiter/motivator that has enough knowledge of the game to get NBA ready players to play a system that basically sets one on one plays to his star players. It's not hard. It's not complicated, but it's 110% effective.
Calipari cheated at Umass and cheated at Memphis and hit the road like Pete Carol did at USC. I have no respect for the guy. Calipari is genius at doing WHATEVER it takes to get blue chippers. Having all these one and done players is killing ncaa bball. Ray Charles could have won a title with 5 nba 1st rounders. It's not as fun to watch as it used to be. I almost enjoy girl's bball more..

I'm not particularly fond of coach Cal, but you gotta give him his props. He beat some of the better coaches this year with a very young and inexperienced team.
