I think Ryan Williams is as good as Ingram.

I said it. I'm amazed how Spiller got all of the recognition in that conference and Williams basically got none all season. He's unbelievable.

Can't say I don't agree.

For the most part, we held Ingram down. Williams was able to run on us for the entire second half.

Ingram: 99 yards, one fumble
Williams: 117 yards, two TDs

RMFW didn't get the press because he's a frosh. If he does this same thing next season then he'll get the hype. However, doing it again next season will be tough because Darren Evans, our leading rusher from '08 and former holder of the VT freshman rushing record, will be back and apparently at 100%.

And he is just a freshman, this kid is gonna be a monster in the years to come. VT may find it hard holding onto him past his jr year.

Bama didn't expose Art Evans for the no talent ass he is either. Our problems on D start with him, we play with one deep safety and he constantly got abused last night. I hope Eric Gordon gets straightened up next semester, because if he isn't taking Evans' job, we're in trouble.

NFL scouts have to be drooling over this kid...his vision for a freshman is on another level..his cuts are so fluid when he sees that hole he explodes so smooth into it without losing a step; not many can do that.

When Evans went down with a season ending ACL injury in August, hokiefandom was distraught because of how good he was and worried that there was nobody of his caliber in the wings. Little did we know. Now next year we'll have Williams, Evans, Wilson and Oglesby. The challenge will be to get them all on the field. Highly possible that someone may transfer.

The same hokiefandom that boo'ed Gerald Jones when the back of his knee got rolled on, but I digress. Ryan Williams will terrorize the ACC as long as he decides to stay in school

Thanks for the compliments. And to think that Williams missed most of the 2nd half. I must admit though, yall probably did the 3rd best job of containing him this year behind Bama and Nebraska.

Ridiculous, he is a good back and is going to get better but at this point in time he is not as good as Ingram. Every time our very average team gets exposed by a talented back we think they have the best back ever. Ala Ole Miss and the greatest tailback of all time. The truth is when Williams went out of the game they still didn't miss a beat running the ball. They played well at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and that was the difference.

Williams is a beast. Their O-line aint to bad either.

I bet A LOT of backs (like Hardesty) could have looked incredible with the holes they were creating all night. The lack of speed in our LB's showed last night too... just like it did against Ole Miss

Why can't we have a back this good?
B Brown has been a dissapointment so far.

Of course we need a real O line also.

Williams is a better back than Ingram.

Hell, I can name a half-dozen backs on an even par or better than the latest perpetrator of the Heisman charade.

Off the top of my head; CJ Spiller, R. Williams, Johnathan Dwyer, Dexter McCluster, Vai Taua, and Toby Gerhart

You people just watched a guy have one of the best seasons that a UT RB has ever had while running behind a poor O-Line and you don't give him any credit. And how has Bryce Brown been a dissapointment when he's been hurt and was second on the depth chart to a 1300 yard back? :banghead2:

I think you're blinded by your hatred for Alabama.

I think Hokie fans were booing because they initially thought the injury was exaggerated in order to stop the clock at a critical time. Once the replay showed the obvious injury it was a different story. I've never seen or heard Hokie fans boo an injured player.

I think time will show that Williams is better than Ingram or Spiller. He's fast, powerful, can block, and has exceptional vision. He plays better as the game goes on, and if he makes a mistake he plays with a vengeance to make up for it. He appears so far to be the most talented VT player since Michael Vick.
