I think Ty Chandler is ...

Look guys, I am on the same train that PulaskiVolFan is on. Tired of everyone dogging our current players and team. Dre Bly?? Really??
Not dogging anyone on this team. Just saying those guys could cover anyone today. Yes...Bly. 2x AA

Doesnt require initial explosive burst with hip dispersion. Hard to explain to someone who doesnt get the physiology aspect of it, no offense intended at all.
Well you have to allow for our mental inferiority. Can you link a YouTube video so’s we can peruse your time travel expedition that allowed you to physiologically examine athletes 30 years ago in their prime?

Is that why you overcompensate with the D4Hesque exaggerated overhype? Or are you the original architect of that strategy? 🤔

If anyone on this board says they saw Kamara doing what he’s doing in NFL while he was at UZt, I’ll call them a liar right now. AK was a very good player but nothing special in big games vs Bama, Florida or Oklahoma.
Are you kidding me? I didn't necessarily see Kamara as OROY but it isn't surprising at all that he's a good NFL player. I simply disagree that he was "nothing special" but the only reason he was not a superstar in college was because he had an idiot for a head coach who didn't give him enough touches and use him as part of the offense like he should.

Let's look at those games you mentioned...in the 2015 Oklahoma game Kamara touched the ball 5 times. 2015 Florida, 8 times. 2015 Alabama, 9 times. 2016 Florida, 3 times, 2016 Alabama, 10 times (he also got hurt in that game). I'm glad you mentioned the Alabama game because remember the game he had before against A&M? 18 carries for 127 yds and 2 TDs plus 8 catches for 161 yds and a TD. 288 total yards (just over 11 yards per touch) and 3 TDs. Remember who started the next game and got the primary workload? Jalen Hurd.

Kamara was criminally underused while at Tennessee. Butch committed a coaching felony. He averaged 6.2 yards per carry and 9.2 yards per catch...that's 7 yards per touch and 23 TDs in 24 games.

Not as physical, no. Callaway would have had the chance to be the best WR in the nation if you put him in his current state on that team.

Randy Moss thinks you're hilarious.

The point is that freakish ability is freakish ability regardless of when, particularly when discussing athleticism at skill positions. You seem to be making arguments that are tantamount to a 4.35 40 in 2018 is faster than a 4.35 40 in 1970. A very, VERY good case could be made that the best deep threat in the history of the game started his NFL career in 1965. Literally to this day he's got the fastest 100m time ever run by a "real" football player. We're talking about a guy that won Olympic Gold and started a Super Bowl. He led the league in TD's, made Pro Bowls and ran a 10.06. Of course I'm talking "Bullet" Bob Hayes. Darrel Green was damn near as fast, made a slew of Pro Bowls, and started his career in '83. The simple truth of the matter is there's precious little difference between a truly elite athlete from 30 years ago than today. The only difference is that due to raw population and increased knowledge of training and nutrition there's more really good athletes.

Come to think of it as freakish as he was then E Gads what a monster Doug Atkins would have been with modern training.

There's an enormous difference between "dogging" a player and saying it might be prudent to pump the brakes a bit when making comparisons to legends in the sport.

Not an original saying, but, "Better to let people think you're stupid, than to say something and prove it." He would be 3rd string on those teams.

5th on 97 squad

Jamal, travis, travis, Bryson. 4 legit NFL RB's on that team, 3 all-sec, 2 all-americans.

JG would be third team qb. that was what I was refering to. But, you are correct. maybe beat out Bryson for 4th team. That's not a knock on TY, just how great the others were.

Ha there is no reasoning with someone who is that foolish. Honestly, his statements are so ignorant that they can only be a troll. No sensible person sincerely thinks the garbage he has spewed. Water is not wet to this person.

A&M defense that year was hot garbage. You proved my point. Thanks for the stats.

You proved nothing. Kamara had very limited touches for the vast majority of his Tennessee career but flashed when he did get the ball. In chances he did get to start or play a lot, it was against inferior competition because he was behind Hurd on the depth chart until Hurd quit.

Bo Jackson outsprints him wearing Keds. He’s so far showing nothing close to a scintilla of the vision of Chuck Webb OR Charlie Garner. There have been plenty of fast backs that never made it big in college...much less the pros. No offense to your abacus, but freak athleticism didn’t make Mike Mamula great...nothing could.
To which game are you referring as far as Chuck Webb is concerned? He played in very few. Personally I think he was the second best running back on his team

YOU proved my point. But you're too stupid to see it. You admit you didn't see him as OROY. That was point one. I said he wasn't a factor vs the better teams. You admit he wasn't. He got 9 and 10 touches vs Bama. In a game with about 60 plays ( bamas defense isn't on the field for 90 plays vs those Tennessee teams) how many touches should he have gotten with Dobbs, Hurd, Malone, etc in the offense also? I've never said he wasn't a good player but NO has done a better job obviously using him in an offense led by the NFLs leading passer. No Tennessee fan saw him having All Pro-type success while he was at Tennessee.

Another factor you fail to recognize with your wisdom. Karmara was usually fresh, rarely beat up from work. I doubt he'd stood up to 20 carries per game behind the OL Vols had those yrs. I know he wouldn't have withstood some of the hits Hurd took.

Cobb-Webb only lasted about 6 weeks. Webb's performance in the Cotton Bowl was one of the greatest days I've ever seen a RB have.
