Oregonvol if you are not an attorney, you missed your true calling. LOL I suspect in truth you are a bit young and should consider the profession. Go for it, you have quite a talent.

Who is misinterpreting things?

I just want to congratulate Butch Jones and his staff for an excellent recruiting class. And I want to say how happy I am with volnation that we don't have any silly threads this year about how star rankings don't matter. It's a win/win as far as I'm concerned.

But some people still seem to want to bicker about something or other.

It's difficult not to be excited with a consensus top five class. My perception is that this staff views these young men as the type to thrive in an environment overrun with standouts. The SEC is such an environment and what I hope to see next is some validation of that judgment. If the coaches are correct, the impact could be immediate and more importantly, lasting. There is much about which to be hopeful.

No offense Oregon, but if your original post was solely designed to congratulate Jones and his staff for a successful recruiting job like your post here says, you should go back to the drawing board. You may have sincerely meant it to come off that way, but it misses the mark IMHO. You threw in one line in a couple of paragraphs in what seems like a sarcastic post designed to take a shot a posters you typically disagree with. Just sayin

Who did I take a shot at? Is there someone on here right now who thinks star rankings don't matter? If so, let them speak up and voice their gripes. Otherwise, you and your ilk are just trying to start an argument during what should be a happy time.

I thought it was a positive that we didn't have any excuse threads this signing day. I guess you don't consider that a positive? Or are some of us just not allowed to remark on a positive development? Please enlighten me.

Yes, and it is not impossible that this group of recruits could do the same. With that said, I wouldn't bet the farm that they will immediately be competitive nor will I be ready to throw in the towel if they are not. Next year's schedule could deflate them a bit. When we see how they respond, we will truly begin to find out what kind of coaching staff we have.
