A 500 team rolls into town and were out-played and coached. Now,my Kentucky neighbor fanatic friend says they will sweep us this year and I'm slowly losing faith in this team and coach.

Yea I'd lose faith in someone that put us back on the national map...

And your second problem is listening to a KY fan...

Losing faith in the team and the coach? You can't be serious.

I hope it was sarcasm...if it wasn't...then I am safe in assuming this person never sat through a game that Wade Houston coached.

We'll take this as a down year. For reference, we would have begged for a season like this during the Houston or Peterson years. The Green yeas were a little reprieve, but marred by horrendously lax standards and ridiculous underachievement.

As far as the SEC goes, I don't think it will be a down year for us. We picked a good year to step back in the conference, cause we are still the class of that weak field.

Ain't it great to have expectations. When people are realistic about it.

He's not being sarcastic. He was doom and gloom after Gonzaga.

Well anybody that knows anything about bball is that when you have as many new guys in a lineup there are going to be some hiccups along the way.

This team will have problems throughout the year, but their athleticism will be tough to handle in the tournament...

And there won't be a team in the tourney that would be glad about drawing us.

i agree, some ppl don't grasp realism. they think that every year is suppose to be as good if not better than the last. there is a learning curve w/ freshmen.

Amen:good!:
Hopefully we will be getting our train rolling by tourney time. When you're as young a team as we are, though, you're going to have tough going in December. March is what counts, and that's still 3 months away.

Yeah, we suck. Never mind that Duke had just as much trouble beating this same team a year ago. I guess they must suck, too.

Losing faith? Belmont doesn't suck you know. Get a clue.

Exactly, Belmont has a great coach and several outstanding players. This was there big game of the year and they really came to play. Belmont should be given all the credit for giving the Vols all they could handle.

With that being said we need to solve our problems on defense.

Get out of the fetal position from under your desk -
and realize Coach Pearl is doing one hell of a job
He has:
NO SENIORS. NONE. ZERO.
NO Outside shooters (Hopson and Maze cannot replace Lofton and Smith)
NO inside game (Williams is average and Chism thinks he's a guard.)
Our full court press is not working - yet

Are we a top 10 team? I don't think so
Top 20?

Get the hell out of here. We would have done no such things the past few years without Pearl!

That Duke team did suck.

If you know anything about CBB, there are certain small programs that are historically tough outs: Belmont, Siena, Winthrop, just to name a few. Every year, I watch teams like this give the Tigers fits. Reason is, they are usually well coached, fundamentally sound teams that can play team ball. Couple that with not getting up for a small team and you have potential for a bad game or loss. Not hard to get up for jerseys that say Georgetown, Gonzaga, or Marquette. Little tougher when the schools' enrollment is smaller than these guys high schools.

Everyone is freaking out for no reason. We beat two very good teams in g'town and Marquette. This is a young team that still lacks a lot of discepline, but Bruce is working on that, give him time. This team will have it's ups and downs, but it will end up being good. Be patient.

This team is young and they lack outside shooters. The defense should get better, hopefully.
