Before anyone says it...I know it was a team effort...

Untimely turnovers and the Colts D letting the 2nd string QB who had never played in a post season game go right down the field defintely sucked...

BUT...

Manning had two chances to show he's done choking on those last two drives...

Those two drives were the kind that define a clutch QB...

Proof once again that Manning is brilliant when it doesn't matter and average when it does

Yet he still has a Superbowl ring.

I know the ring was defintely validation and he is no doubt a first ballot Hall of Famer..

But does one ring cancel out a career of not being the difference in the clutch?

Brett Favre- 1 ring
Now, Peyton will be 32 next year do you think he is going to get anymore chances at another ring?

Trying not to be biased here, but it takes more than just throwing the ball. His LT got blown up by Merriman, Clark dropped a ball that hit both hands... both INTs were from tipped balls. Again, it's more than just Manning... the Colts went from great to average with Harrison's fumble. It honestly just looked like the Charger's wanted it more.

Yet he still has a Superbowl ring.

I'm just glad he got tht ring before the Patriots reloaded...

Otherwise...he might be this generatiiosn Dan Marino...

But he did get it so that is that...

It's funny...last year I breathed a sigh of relief that Manning finally won it all and he didn't have to answer those questions anymore....I swore I was done being frustrating and that the SuperBowl win was a load off of my shoulders for his sake ...

But here I am...mad about the same stuff again...:dunno:

He still is relatively young. He has time to add to his credentials or subtract. Many great QBs do not even have one. Ask Dan Marino.

Yeah, you are right, forget the balls that his teammates tipped straight up in the air for INTs or the fact that his defense laid down when they needed to bow their backs the most and let a midget bust an obvious play for a TD.

Good call, blame it on Peyton.

Maybe, I don't know. I doubt he really cares since he won the ultimate prize in the sport of football. But he has had his struggles.

Well, the QB takes the fall win or loss.

If I were Manning I would choke too. I mean all that money that surrounds me would just suffocate me. Get real. The Colts D lost this for them today not Manning.

Read the post you just quoted...

I said I know alot falls on his teammates...

But those last two drives were his chance to show the pressure is off and he is a new QB when in the clutch...and he pulled the same ol' stuff he has always pulled in that situation

and tipped balls....

you know you're not world class when the 3 stars of the opposing offense are out and the back-up QB and RB take it 78 yards for a TD on you.

I think Clark is an awesome TE, but what does it say about the state of the team when Keith is your featured back and Clark is your go-to receiver on 4th and 5.

Freeney's injury hurt them today and it if they played NE next week, it may be the difference in the ability to win.

Tough season, lots of injuries, they'll be back.

Pulled the same ol' stuff? Really? Is that he ball Wayne dropped b/c he got hit a little hard or the ball he floated to Clark that he dropped for no apparent reason? Or was it the missed block by Ugoh on a 3 man rush? Yeah, same old Peyton.

Hmmm, he's had 31 game winning drives in the 4qtr or OT. I guess he needed 32 to be considered a non-choker :ermm:

Here's a table for those of you that think Manning is a choke artist. This table was released in 2006 so it might need SOME updating and I would say it would add some wins for Manning. I'm not saying he doesn't lose some either.
