Actually, I think that they paid for more than 9, but they conveniently lost the receipt, so couldn't claim the rest as being "purchased".

The NCAA keeps records of these polls, but they DO NOT recognize a D-I football national champion. That's why there are polls, the NCAA has no official D-I champion. That's why, for example, if everything Linda Bensel-Myers said had been proven true, our record would have officially been changed to 0-13, but we would have still been National Champions because the NCAA has no power to take something they don't grant. Just 1 more reason we need a better system and a true, recognized champion.
