And i was walking down at field level during Hooker's interception when UGA fans started getting louder and during other key moments as i prefer walking around to sitting.

Let me just say this. That UGA decibal noise is a bit bogus.

It was loud but it was certainly not intimidating level loud nor that hostile of a place. Sanford Stadium has a lot of openings and doesn't trap sound as well as Neyland imo. It felt just like being at a Braves game or something to me.. Certainly nothing like Neyland.

I saw some of our players are actually using the crowd noise as an excuse and feel like that's BS. UGA fans are having a field day with this saying their stadium is so much louder and mire hostile than Neyland blah blah blah.

I was on the field level. It simply was not that loud.

It was loud and intimidating but the pressure of being in a big matchup and playing against a team with more talented players that had a major chip on its shoulder played an impact.

Georgia controlled the line of scrimmage and the secondary was relentless.

Yes. I have been to two games there in years past. The stadium simply is not built to hold sound. Basic physics...the sound waves go right out that low area of seating. The db numbers on their scoreboard were fake as Luke Bryan.Stad.jpg

Well, Vols did have like 5 or 6 false starts, so there's that.

Also, Dawgs don't pipe in fake crowd noise through speakers like some stadiums.

I know it didn't turn out how you wanted but what an awesome game to attend.

They have teeth?

They are the worst fan base in the SEC. They are complete clowns. Barking at kids and teenage Vol fans. Flipping our band the bird. They have some weird superiority complex, too, as if Knoxville doesn’t sh*t all over Athens. What an overrated town that is. Just a bunch of bars, knick-knack shops and gas pumps. No building in sight built after 1970. Knoxville has all the bars Athens does, plus a bunch of corporate offices and a legit downtown. The only decent part of Athens was 2 miles west of the Stadium. That’s where Farragut is in Knoxville, so I think you know which place I’m leaning toward as nicer. The only SEC towns I thought were nicer or as good as Knoxville were Nashville (doesn’t really count, because Vandy) and Lexington. The only SEC towns I haven’t been to are Fayetteville and Starkville, so I think I have a pretty decent perspective here.

Yeah because all sound is the same in EVERY AREA??🙄.

Obviously the sound is the same at very top vs DOWN IN MIDDLE OF THE BOWL field😏.

Are you serious??

Did you not count the 8 FALSE STARTS??
They did that for $#its and giggles???

Christ...🙄...

Looked like a great College Gameday atmosphere. With that home crowd and the start UGA had, the Vols did a good job of keeping the score as close as it ended up being. I know Kirby was very conservative but with the rain and Tennessee's potential of big plays (tho thwarted all day), Kirby thought that approach was the best path to victory. This one could have gotten UGA-Oregon ugly but it didn't. No moral victory but the Vols did show some fight against all odds. UGA was the better team on Sat and it showed.

One thing is for certain. UGA is a much better team than Alabama.

I was there and think it was likely the loudest game ever played at Sanford Stadium. It was deafening at times. I believe Neyland is louder but the GA fans were intense and on their A game yesterday vs the Vols. It was impressive for sure. One heck of an atmosphere. GBO!

You’re just saying that because your team won. The game itself wasn’t exciting at all past the first quarter.

I've got to give it to their fans, they brought the noise all 4 quarters. They did not take a down off. It wasn't nearly as loud as Neyland can get but to try to say it wasn't loud is not a true statement and I'd say it definitely had an affect on the outcome of the game. If we had played this game at a neutral site or in Neyland it would have been a completely different game.
My take of the game is Georgia absolutely has the best defense we have faced all year and it's really not even close. With that being said, if Hooker is on his A game and hits a couple of those deep passes that he overthrew, this is a completely different ballgame. We absolutely can beat any team in America if we play to our potential! I had a great time in Athens (besides for the obvious). It was an amazing atmosphere and hopefully was a warmup for our guys for when we meet them again in the playoffs!! Go Vols!!

I was in Neyland at the 2004 Florida game. I had been to games before when it got loud, but I remember walking out of the stadium after that FG and wandering over to the bridge and just standing there, taking it all in. My ears rang and my head hurt. I stood there for an hour, because I knew I’d never get out into traffic. Finally got back to my sister’s house out off Kingston Pike around 1 AM and tried to be quiet as I walked in, but I woke everybody up because I was apparently talking very loudly but didn’t know it.
THAT’S loud. I could hear the crowd on the radio Saturday, but it didn’t sound as loud as Neyland during the Bama game and the Ole Miss game last year.

It was a great atmosphere! Bulldog fans brought it for 4 quarters.....Most of the fans were very respectful. (I actually got a golfcart ride to the stadium by a bulldog fan)....Only a few that I had to ignore and overlook their drunken barking.

Edit- My brother also went to the game but he was sitting in a different section then I was. He had a terrible experience and says their fans were rude and obnoxious to him all day long. His and my experiences were totally different.
