Wes Rucker....says otherwise...HE WOULD KNOW. Now, if you keep saying the noise didn't work for GA, then we really suck on the road, since the noise wasn't a problem, right?
Can't have it both ways.
Wes posted this on the dawg board....

'Sup, B-holes?
Just had to stop by and credit Georgia fans for making this BY FAR the loudest I've ever heard Sanford Stadium. It was special today.
Been covering games down here since 2000, and to be honest I've always thought Sanford was a tick below the loudest of the loud in this league, perhaps owing to the open nature of one of the end zones.
Not today, my friends. Not today. Sanford today was every bit as loud as Neyland for the Bama game, and that entire day was insane. So was this one. I asked my buddy Schlabach, and he insisted it was the loudest he'd ever heard the stadium, too.
That atmosphere was fantastic. Tennessee's got a very experienced O-line with multiple future pros on it, and those guys were whistled for seven false starts today. That shocked me, truly.
Well done, my friends. Well done. Proper fun atmosphere, that.
Good luck until our paths cross again — perhaps in a couple of months, perhaps next year, perhaps never if my wife murders me for any one of my many murderable offenses.

Ha Ha Ha....I shall send Wes a note congratulating him!

He is setting you up for the knockout punch. And, you're dumb enough to take the bail..

A coworker went to the game and is a UGA fan.. She said it was louder in 2000 when they beat us for the first time in however many years. She said it was super loud.. but not the loudest. (she also still has her voice.. clearly didn't follow direct orders from Kirby)

They're not all bad, but I admit the bad Georgia fans are truly some of the worst. Somehow worse than drunk LSU fans, which is saying something. Since they upgraded to Kirby, they've gotten that "new money" arrogance that won't wear off until they struggle for a few years, and even then, they'll be a handful because they've waited so long to be on top. They'll run it into the ground before they're done.

That woofing through, it really is the worst. Not only is it mindless, it's the most low-effort cheer you can possibly imagine. It's like, really? "Woof woof woof?" Ok. And?

It's just childish. Like what five year olds do on a playground. It makes them seem small. "Let's bark loudly at this family and their children." Ok. Sure thing, my man.

But, again. New money. Seen it before in this league. And I'm sure I'll see it again when the next program hits the big time.

It's clear there are a lot of bad adult and bad student fans in all the SEC schools. Who has the worst or most is really not the issue, the issue is that they exist and their lot is growing.

I can't remember...are they selling beer in Sanford Stadium these days?

Realize that you can bring your whiskey into game with the incredibly clever fake binoculars..

I was there and sat next to our band. The hate and obscene hand gestures thrown towards the band kids, a group of college kids there to support their team, was concerning. The fact that it took 4 GBI agents, 2 GA state troopers, 4 sheriff officers and 8-10 private security members to protect our 100 piece band tells you all you need to know about that fan base. I know every school (except maybe Vandy) has their crazies, but yesterday was disturbing.
I was in band in college. Some of the UGA fans you reference need to be thankful they got the docile band members. Some band guys I have known, self included, would have reacted less timidly.

Well, Vols did have like 5 or 6 false starts, so there's that.

Also, Dawgs don't pipe in fake crowd noise through speakers like some stadiums.

I know it didn't turn out how you wanted but what an awesome game to attend.
That’s not to surprising. They’ve had several games that they have had several false starts.

Alabama game was unusual. They played nearly perfect

I was there in the lower bowl. It was deafening. Talked to a TN fan there who also attended the TN/AL game. He said Sanford was louder. Neyland is loud but not THAT loud. Crowd noise a huge factor in the game. Their student section must be #1 in college football. Gates opened 2 hrs before kickoff. There was a line of students long enough to wrap around the outside of Neyland. We got in 90 min before kickoff. Stadium mostly empty but that section (they allot many more tix to students) was packed and going nuts
This is easily one of the top ten most pathetic troll jobs in the history of the internet. One can tell even from watching on television the vast difference between Neyland when it is rocking and any other stadium on the planet. This has been affirmed by many a commentator, coach, player, etc.

It was loud and intimidating but the pressure of being in a big matchup and playing against a team with more talented players that had a major chip on its shoulder played an impact.

Georgia controlled the line of scrimmage and the secondary was relentless.

Yeah, I don't think it's that loud. To much open areas around the stadium. Neyland is much louder.

They've had false starts too at Neyland. Fact is, your stadium doesn't hold sound. Neyland is way Louder

I actually couldn’t care less who’s stadium gets louder but an acoustical engineer (my son in law is one) can EASILY explain how the sound escapes through opening in that stadium. One of the main reasons Neyland is so much louder is simple acoustical trapment. I personally find it kinda silly debating which fan base screams louder 😂😂.
QUITE accurate noise reverbs in Neyland, and escapes easily at most open stadiums.

I Agree with this. The acoustics ate in Neyland’s favor for being loud on the field. As one said earlier Neyland is kid of a bowl, Sanford not so much.

But really who cares, it was plenty load in Athens. It was a great atmosphere for a home team and very challenging for the away team.

Was it as loud as Neyland was when Bama came to town? I don’t know. The measurables and acoustics lead me to believe Neyland is probably a little loader when it’s really rocking.

I’d like to see a game in Neyland. I probably never will though. Hearing Rocky Top on TV so often brings back terrible childhood memories from the 90’s. I’m not sure how many in a row you guys won but I’m pretty sure it was the entire decade. No offense intended, but I don’t think I could handle Rocky Top over the loud speakers😂

Been to a lot of games in a lot of stadiums (does not include the Tiger Den at night). Neyland is the only one that left me with the symptoms of hearing damage (as per the Navy physiologists that kept harping on us to always wear ear protection on the flight line). Can remember my chest vibrating from the sound when Florida missed the FG in '98. The only thing close to that was sitting three rows from the side speakers at a Grand Funk Railroad concert in 1970.

My grandpa went to that game and he said that's the loudest he's heard that stadium in almost 30 years. He's been a georgia fan his whole life Communication was impossible with that environment. Tough road game for sure

Yeah because all sound is the same in EVERY AREA??🙄.

Obviously the sound is the same at very top vs DOWN IN MIDDLE OF THE BOWL field😏.

Are you serious??

Did you not count the 8 FALSE STARTS??
They did that for $#its and giggles???

Christ...🙄...
Kirby loves the 4 down linemen to shift in unison. He only uses at home against a legitimate opponent. Surprised we weren’t ready for it.

The most surprising thing was the large amount of use the large plastic fire hydrants were gettimg by all those barking fans in red.Ladies too!

A buddy of mine attended and was near the stadium speakers and says they were rebroadcasting the noise. Which I am given to understand is illegal.

I was there and think it was likely the loudest game ever played at Sanford Stadium. It was deafening at times. I believe Neyland is louder but the GA fans were intense and on their A game yesterday vs the Vols. It was impressive for sure. One heck of an atmosphere. GBO!

Agreed!
Was there too. Absolutely the crowd and fanfare impacted the game. At times couldn’t hear or talk to my buddies two seats down… it was so loud. Neyland loud? Nope. Impressive? Yup.

This was a great learning experience for THIS team to take the step to the next level. With each win comes a bigger stage with more hostility. We needed the adversity to really prepare for the Natty.
Go VOLS!

Yeah, we owned you guys in the 90s. Sadly, we're an example of what bad leadership looks like and we've had 15+ years of crap leadership. Hopefully we've turned it around.
