I wish the football team had the heart our BasketVols show.

Lol keep telling yourself that. Is UNC gonna be the 3rd best team in the country after they dominate the paint against us next week?

This was supposed to be the year. This is the team. Best team Barnes has had in Knoxville. Makes me sick to see people saying "well, it was against 2 really good teams..."

WE are supposed to be one of the best teams in the country. Stop with the lame excuses.
It’s the day before Thanksgiving and we’ve lost games to the #1 and #2 teams In the country on back to back days in HawaiI. It’s ok. We’re allowed to improve and we have 30+ more games to go. Again, it’s November. Long ways to go.

I have so many questions about this post..
The BasketVols struggled last year because of poor shooting in the finals. Same players that struggled last year are in the line up struggling to hit shots this year. Why ? Go get some shooters. Or practice till they can hit something besides a lay up. Vescovi is shooting 32% this year. He was 0-3 against Purdue, 1-5 against Syracuse. He had a better game against Marquette but he's inconsistent and should not be in the line up IMHO

This tells me you are a Troll, we haven't played Marquette since 2014. Basketball is just not shooting, there's setting teammates up, assist, rebounding and theirs Defense and leadership. You haven't got a clue. He does all those things at a high clip for 4 years.
2 time 1st team All SEC.

Long scoring droughts just like the football team.. Barnes offense doesn't change and they still don't have a good big man..

And a 5-6 Florida team.
Agreed. That loss was unexcusable. People act like every Vols loss this year were as bad as that FL loss.

They weren't. If you play top ten teams, you'll lose some games and I'm okay with that. I'd like to win more and more of those games but we'll have to claw our way to the top of the SEC because nobody rolls over in this conference.

Barnes has 2 point guards that can't hit on a consistent level. How can he be starting Vescovi when he simply is not a true shooter. Barnes seems loyal to his point guards like CJH is loyal to JM
You don’t watch basketball is you think Vescovi isn’t a true shooter. He’s one of the most prolific 3pt shooters in school history

First, this is the football forum, but I can't ignore this. Are you really saying Vescovi shouldn't be starting? If he never scored he'd be one of our most valuable players. Sometimes I am simply amazed by some of our fans. Also, we haven't even played Marquette. Do you even watch the games?

Mark it down. Florida will knock off FSU in the swamp and be bowl eligible. Will that stop the whining over the Vols "unacceptable" loss in the swamp? You must accept it as it is reality - the 2023 Vols were not that good on either offense or defense. If Josh wins 8 with this squad it is not that bad. There is hope for a much better team in 2024 - vastly better at qb, hopefully better luck with injuries and opportunities in the transfer portal. Must re-recruit returning players with value such as offensive linemen.

I said Marquette instead of Kansas, where he had finally had a decent game. His stats (32%FGs ) don't lie. And no, I don't watch every minute of every game, some I can't get. But going back to last year every time see him he's missing shots. . You are like a lot of fans who get attached to a player just because he's been here so long, that you ignore the games where he doesn't show up in hopes of seeing the Vescovi that played good that 1 game out 4. Yes, this is a football forum, but that same thing applies to Milton where he has 1 good game and 4 bad games. You won't win a championship with a Milton or with Viscovi. He plays defense good and hits free throws... but you need someone who is consistent shooter to win championships

Orange Bowl aint winning nuttin' either. FF > Orange Bowl. Natty or Sorry Loser is the mantra round here folks.

Way way way harder to make it to an orange bowl than making the tourney. Orange bowl is equal to making the elite 8. How many times Barnes done thst his whole career?

Stop crying already jeez. SMDH

Are all you guys new to sports or something? I swear all yall are b's.
I was 9 when we won the NC in football. We haven't been **** since. I remember watching the game but didn't understand the significance or even football. Literally all I've known my whole life is disappointing loss after disappointing loss. Football, basketball, and now more recently, baseball. And on top of that I'm also a Cowboys and Titans fan. So yeah, I'm just pissed at this point. About to just say F it and find a new weekend hobby.

Ok, go kick rocks. They're still gonna play. This year and the next and the year after that too. I hope you can hold the tears back better when you stump your toe.

What I'm saying is I have several questions/comments about all of this:

1. You realize Scovi isn't a point guard, right?

2. Also, you realize point guards aren't necessarily meant to be shooters, right? Ball handling and passing comes first. A PG who can shoot is a luxury, but not a necessity.

3. Scovi is the epitome of a true shooter. He's had a rough year so far, but shooting is what he does.

Vescovi is having a bad year shooting ( 32%) but that is only slightly worse than his career shooting (39%)
