My question who gets released from s scholarship? In FBS scholarships are at 85 but isnt FCS only like 53 or something? If so beyond the seniors that graduate who gets to walk unpenalized?

I think is in the maybe 63 somewhere in that neighborhood. That is a good question though for the teams considering dropping down. l

One would like to think they would make an exception and allow the school to redshirt the new freshmen class and just not allow them to recruit as many for next year in order to let the numbers even out. But that would make too much sense.

That's the only way I could think of cutting their roster to the 63 or whatever without taking young men's scholarships and opportunity to play football at the school they chose away.

There has been talk of Villanova moving up. I've heard tremors of North Dakota State and Montana as well. There has been talk in the past about teams dropping down. UAB was one before they killed it. Temple threatened several times. Coastal Carolina will be a good addition in time. Tulane at one time almost dropped down. But look in recent years some of the schools that have moved up. Texas State. UTSA. Old Dominion. Charlotte.Georgia Southern. Georgia State. And I'm sure there will be more.
