crompton wasn't bad last night. chris houston had meachem covered for most of the night.

And by covered you mean holding, tackling and taking free piggy back rides on Meachems back right?

Look guys Arky did not score but 3 in the second half. Crompton had WR open and could not hit them Ainge would of. if Ainge was in we win no doubt in my mind!

Surely you jest. We didn't "hold them to 3 in the second half." They fumbled at our 3 yard line in the 3rd quarter. They called off the dogs, or hogs, plain and simple. If Ainge played and was 100%, we would have made a more respectable showing. However, Ainge being in wouldn't have had any effect on the hippie DB locking down Meachem last night. Ainge playing doesn't stop McFadden from running wild on us. Ainge playing doesn't help our coaching staff learn how to make adjustments. We were dominated, period.

I think we would have won LSU and Arky with Ainge. Crompton looked like a deer in the headlights last night. It was kinda sad to watch Arky continually level him.

Ainge is real smart and knows all his progressions and can make decisions ALOT quicker than J.C.

How do we only give up 6 or 7 sacks all season and then play the Hogs and get blasted at the line every freaking play??

If Peyton was in last night we still would have been throttled.

Mcfadden shredded us last night, and if Felix Jones hadn't fumbled he probably would have scored again.

We would have beaten LSU IMO, but i dunno about Arkansas. Our defense cost us alot last night. But we would have made it alot closer with Ainge in the game.

Thats what I saw and they replayed it several times going into a commercial and whats bad there was an official just standing there. Sometimes I wonder why some guys even have job out there

I am not a Chris Houston fan at all...but he did do pretty well last night. There was one play I remember specifically that he should have been called for interference or holding but it wasn't. On you all's first TD Houston could have made a play on the ball if he wouldn't have given up. But that tackle he made on your punt return guy was awesome when he got up off the ground and made the play.

I can whine all I want to but we still got beat but somethings did go Arky's way last night as far as calls and blown assignments that our secondary did but oh well life goes on

ainge would've made things a lot more interesting. He could've slowed down arkansas's first half because he would've GOTTEN RID OF THE FREAKING BALL and made some plays that would've made it a different game.. possibly a shootout, and there's no telling what would've happened there. That being said, our D just didn't show up, so we can't blame this on crompton

I was screaming that the whole game while doing this :BANGHEAD2: !!!

He had time and I am not positive if it was just great coverage or not (I was at the game and didn't have a TV to watch) but he was holding onto it WAY too long.

Yeah, and UT would be 10-0 if Harrell and Inky hadn't got injured. All water under the bridge.

UT needs to do a better job preparing players for the rigors of playing college football.

I dont know if they need better technique, better conditioning, more awareness of how to prevent injuries, but UT has had season after season decimated by injuries.

Arkansas would have scored more if they'd wanted to.

I hate this argument. Did you see the play that Ainge injured his ankle on? He is lucky that he came away with only a high ankle sprain. Inky's injury came from poor form on a hit on the sideline. I am not sure exactly how Harrell ruptured his bicep, however, I doubt much more conditioning would have prevented such a catastrophic injury.

No...i'm sorry but your defense was torn with injuries...it would have been a closer game vs. Arkansas and you could've beat LSU but not 9-1, maybe 8-2

Both times Ainge has been playing well for us, as a freshman and again this year, our coaches have called a play that has put him at risk and gotten him hurt. I really feel that we would have won the SECCG in 2004 had he been able to complete the season. I also feel we would have won the LSU game with a healthy Ainge. As far as the Arkansas game, they toatally dominated us, but I feel we would have seen a different UT team out there had they won the LSU game and had a healthy Ainge at QB. Would it have been enough, who knows, but I do feel we would have given them a good game. Nothing aginst Crompton, he is doing well given his experence level. I am just really upset our coaches called a QB draw in the SC game when a FG puts us up by 14 with about 5 mins to play. Our total offense being built around the passing game, you don't put him at risk there IMO!

Yeah, Ainge played extremely well against Auburn the first time. I'm sure his second attempt would be much better.

I agree with you completely especially the ainge injury part, last year he got hurt right before 1/2time on some dumb play.

Look, I was upset as anyone that in '04. It was awful coaching that Fulmer ran him out there with only one play left before the half, the ball at our 20, and with a backup center. Fulmer cost Ainge the rest of that season and his injury definately cost us the ND game (we were winning at the half). That said, it was Auburn's year that year and I still wouldnt say we win the seccg if Ainge had played. Its tough to win when your secondary is starting a bunch of freshmen and you give up 38.

As for this year...i think we would have stood an excellent chance to win the Lsu game. But Arkansas? I really dont know, but Im leaning towards no. Our d-line still would have gotten destroyed, Wade still couldnt cover an obviously injured receiver, and I dont see how our o-line would have blocked any better. Before the Ainge injury when I looked at this game I thought it would be a shootout that we would win because they would be forced to throw the ball. The sad thing is they had no problem throwing the ball against us, and I dont know how many points we put up, Ainge or Crompton, when our receivers were getting jammed and defeated by the Arkansas secondary.
