This is the problem with Jones: there is no way this guy can hire a top-notch staff. Hope I'm wrong. Hart's job was to find UT a good coach--not just somebody who would take the job. He failed. And I don't buy this nonsense about nobody wanting the job. Horsecrap. We've got a great tradition, great fan base, won a national title in '98. It's a great program to sell--but you have to sell it, like anything else. This is also in large measure Fulmer's fault--who not only drove the program into the ditch but didn't hire any coaches--except for longtime guys Chavis and Cut--who we could go to when we we needed a new head coach. He's got no tree. Chavis would have been a far better choice than Jones, IMO.
