Obviously that is my opinion sir. But i would believe that it is shared by literally anyone who has seen MNF with kornhieser or miller at the helm. I can Guarantee you that ratings with gruden are as high as they have ever been.

And since when do people toon in bc of announcers!? Hell I usually toon out and turn on the radio bc of announcers

I think the confusion came with the capitalization of "Mark". I know it's supposed to be but his mind probably read it differently because of it...

Yea, poor wording on my part. Edited. What do you think about how ESPN feels towards Gruden? You think they will let him walk away?

I don't think they'll offer him much more money to stay if that's what you're asking. He makes them money, but I think they would be better off giving it to Dilfer than upping Gruden's already ridiculously high contract.

No offense, but people don't watch MNF to see/hear Jon Gruden. There isn't anything to suggest he significantly effects the ratings of MNF, which has always been one of the highest rated programs on television.

I understand that people don't watch just to see Gruden. My overall point is this: ESPN values him. A lot. How much? We will see soon imo.

I don't think ESPN will do anything to prevent him from coaching again if that's what he wants to do. While I obviously have no clue on it, I would assume that it would have been part of his contract with ESPN. That he can end it anytime to take a HC position.

Just my opinion

I like Gruden on MNF but John Madden he aint...

Yeah because John Madden is an effing horrible commentator. I'm sorry, but if I hear a commentator tell me that if you don't tackle someone they're going to score one more time I'll pull my hair out, and I have a nice head of hair.

Never said Madden was great and neither are/were award worthy IMO.. To me Madden was more 'colorful', entertaining and down right funny at times.. Personal preference I guess..

Gruden will be coaching at an NFL Team by March.

Pick one:
San Diego
Kansas City
Dallas
Philadelphia
Cleveland
Carolina
Jacksonville
Buffalo

None of the above, he'll still be sitting at an ESPN desk.

He already has a sweet deal.

Let's see, I have a choice to work less than half the year, with almost 0 pressure, and pull in $4.5M + endorsements. All the while, I can spend a considerable amount of time home with my family if I choose.

My other choice is to bump that up to say, $6M, and take a job which will require me to work 80 hours a week, move my family, and answer to a fanatical, unrealistic, fanbase.

Looking at it that way, I know which job I am going to take.

A smart football fan would see how he would be a great fit for college football.

When you see someone as fiery and enthused as he is coaching kids you'll understand. He talks crazy to people and honestly that doesn't fly that well in the NFL (hence why some of the player hated him. Warren Sapp included). In college he can get any team fired up to play their hearts out and is an amazing X's and O's guy. He is one of the few NFL coaches that I think would make a great college coach and that is mainly because of his personality. If you can ever watch a video of him coaching then you'll see what I mean when I say I would be excited as hell to see him roaming our sidelines.

If you add that on top of the fact that he would be an amazing recruiter with his name recognition and NFL success then you have a great combination for a coach. Also he will most likely have a great staff of coordinators combined with the best facilities in the country.

Solid.
