If Hart blows the deal with Gruden and then trots Al Golden out there as the "best fit" how long before he is on the unemployment line with Dooley?

get a grip man ! gruden may or may not wont to coach here ? so if gruden says no ,then your saying hart blew it ? cmon man theres more to the decision than just hart askin gruden to coach .

Wow, crazy assumptions here.

Why automatically assign the blame to Hart if it's Gruden who chooses not to come here? There are things more important than money in some people's eyes; the declination of the Arkansas offer should be an indication that money and perks weren't enough to sway Gruden.

If Gruden does say "No" to us, maybe the onus is on him and not on Hart.

Sorry, I forgot... we're a vindictive as hell fanbase that wants someone thrown to the wolves when we don't get our way. I keep having to remind myself of that.

If he gets anyone but Gruden or Strong then IMO he needs to be fired right after the presser. I will not get behind and support Mora Jr, Smart, Golden or any other "could be great" coach. I also don't want Petrino or any other coach that will come in and use the program as their personal stepping stone to a bigger and better job.

I think he will be OK if it is reported creditably that he made a real effort to hire him, and there was no realistic way it could happen. Then he can hire Mora Jr. or Jimbo Fisher and everything will be OK.

What's funny is Hart could hire a guy like Golden or Smart and they could show massive improvement over Dooley's coached team this year. Noone knows what could happen. Hell, Gruden could come in here and go 5-7 next year and quit. No matter who is hired, I will wait to make judgement.

I'm ok with getting the best coach available this year. I'm not ok with Arkansas getting a better coach.

Nobody will know if he "blew it" until 2-3 years from now no matter who he hires.

The guy just convinced Cheek to put his job on the line by making a very public announcement of where AD funds would be diverted... And you're already assuming negativity?

For what its worth a former player told me he played in a golf tourny this summer.Hart played in it also.After there rounds some where standing around drinking a few cold ones.He said Heart came over got a beer and shot the bull with them for over ab hour.He said he is funny and very down to earth.Really suprised all the former players.

Hart is no-where like the last AD and knows full well how high the stakes are...not just for him but the future of the program and university. I have no-doubt he's watching and listening to various sources and have Guden on some list. The question is...does Guden have or want his name on it. Hart can only do so much and money might not be all there is.

Comfortable in letting Hart play this out. He has to perform a delicate dance keeping the neurotic fan base happy whilst answering to the boosters. Patience folks.

Can't be Al Golden. That would be a terrible. The guy has had one good year at Temple and now he has a worse defense at Miami than we do. Why is he even on the list. Plus he said he is committed to Miami, so if he bolts then he is a liar and we don't need another one of those.

Golden does not have a history of success at the head coach position. His record isn't all that good and that is a prerequisite according to Dave Hart's PC. I don't think Golden is even a possibility, more like a fart in the wind of the rumor mill
