If I can offer one thing to consider...

In 2017, an unranked Iowa team defeated a highly talented Urban Meyer coached #5 Ohio State team 55-24, handing Urban Meyer his worse loss in his career.

Now, obviously this doesnt solve anything for us this year but I wanted to point that game out as a way to discourage anybody from thinking the loss to South Carolina is an automatic red flag against Huepel. Bad losses happen to good coaches. We will see how Huepel responds. Despite what happened Saturday Im still very excited for the future of the program.

So you think Tennessee will get Iowa in a bowl?

Also I though flags were yellow.

I have very real concerns about this Vandy game on Saturday given the fact that Hooker is out. I have absolutely no confidence in this defense, so the offense likely will feel the pressure to score a considerable amount of points. I hope Milton is up to the task , but I am far from sure of it.

You already know how the Vandy game will go. It will be absolutely infuriating to watch on both ends. Defense will give up countless first downs to Vandy. Milton will be horribly inconsistent, never realizing he has to take a bit off his throws.

TN might win. But it will be disgusting to watch. Worse, it will be a preview of how next year will look. Old Vols are back.

Our secondary is flat out awful folks. I like JH but if he keeps WM for 2023 I'm going to question his leadership capabilities.
I've had some stupid opinions here from time to time however I'm confident most here will agree with me on this.

I’m not going to go there, yet. But it is very possible.

If we lose it is because the team (coaches included) allowed a bad loss to carry over to the Vandy game. Yes, Vandy is playing better but UT has a better roster even without Hendon at QB. The majority of the crowd will be UT fans.
Agreed - it’s a “home” game with us having a better roster and a better offensive coaching staff. I think we win even with the problems on the defensive staff.

Unless they have a serious come to Jesus meeting and put it all out there.. things aren’t resolved until someone is crying lol
My hubs was at work last night, he called telling me what was said at work. Of course these rumors always come from someone who has a connection in the program. Byron, my husband said he was told there is a Power T somewhere that isn't supposed to be stepped on, if you step on it, you do push ups. Banks stepped on it and Hooker told him to do his push-ups. Banks pushed Hooker and Milton stepped in and punched him. If true, it should be easier to resolve than NIL stuff would be.

It's not all of a sudden. We've been bad all year. Rattler had a good game.
Had a great game.. So good it makes you wonder where that was all year. They looked like a well oiled machine and we looked like Doo doo.

TN isn’t mentally tough and you’re going to see why against Vandy. Could you imagine Ohio State not absolutely destroying Vandy after a loss to S Carolina? What about Bama? Georgia? Clemson?

Those teams follow up disappointments with strong performances. And they do it every time. Thinking TN is on that level after 2 months is a mistake. TN is closer to who they were from 2008-2021.

I guess we will find out soon.

Yeah, that is a much more simple fix, agreed .. that just sounds like alpha stuff.. which is way easier than sour grapes

Agreed. I think we lose. Vandy is playing its' best football of the season and now have a bowl game in sight. Terrible time to have internal conflict, doubt, and a new QB. I know Joe can throw hard and has thrown some highlight dimes in mop up time this season. That's a far different situation than having to go win an SEC road game. Before you talk about how terrible Vandy is, remember what some people thought of SC.
If we lose to Vandy, we better play another QB next year. Milton has had his time to grow into this role and plenty of snaps.

That said, I am optimistic that he will get it done. Hopefully, done well

Our defense is ranked 100 in total D. NO way... NO how... does our talent on defense equate to that ranking. Coaching has A LOT to do with our struggles. Another stat is that our defense has not improved, overall, in this DC's second year. Better to make a change sooner rather than later, IMO.

I'll just tell you that I am worried about this game, and the reason for it is because I'm worried about our defensive secondary. We are awful, and something needs to change this week asap
