If it were Climer's call, Martin needs two wins to save job

I believe Zo has already saved his job. He can lose to Iowa and he is coming back. I feel pretty certain.

It's going to be hell for CCM in 2014-2015 if that young Tennessee team has a rough time and has a loosing record. Folks are going to have blood in their eyes wanting him gone.

Tennessee has made a few boneheaded hires going back to the late 90s. Imagine if Tennessee would have hired Bill Self instead of Jerry Green? Tennessee might have NCAA Championships in men's basketball!

That would have meant hiring Oral Robert's HC which Tulsa did but it is hard to blame Dickey for not going after Self in '97. He was not well known at the time.

We'd look stupid to fire a coach who won 19, 20 & 21 games in his 1st 3 years. Plus it would be hard to hire someone good to come here after doing that. Cuonzo is here next year unless he leaves on his own

The thing is had CCM won just two more games each season, the Vols would be 3 for 3 of getting into the NCAAT and this year they would not be playing for an 11 seed....

But I guess that the player's fault (and CBP's fault) cause:

"shooters got to make shots"
"scorers got to score the ball"
"players have to execute"
"players have to play defense"
"players can't turn the ball over".

So when is it actually the coaches fault vs. the players???

Oh and we must not forget the fans ----- it is also the fan's fault that UT under performed this year and had some ugly losses last year and the year before....
CCM is a mediocre coach on his very best day.....

Honest question, what would you do if you were Hart? Talk about being between a rock and hard place. Do you keep Counzo for financial reasons? Do you keep him because you think you can't get a better coach? Do you keep him because you think he is the right coach? If you do keep him are you willing to take a possible loss in revenue? This fan base is as divided as they come and it doesn't matter if I like Hart or not, I don't envy his position and yes, I know that's why he gets paid the big bucks.

Hart's job isn't to please volnation.com

You're not gonna fire a coach making 1.3 million to hire a coach for $2m that you want the same results from lol

If Hart makes a move it will be because he's bossing up and wants to make a statement about Tennessee basketball...like tossing out $3m and hiring Gregg Marshall, Ben Howland or Brad Stevens. And I don't see that happening.

I'd make a damn decision. If we want to be Virginia Tech, then I'd downsize the arena and convert Pratt Pavilion into some library. If we're actually as serious about basketball as our facilities would indicate, I'd quit this wishy-washy sh*t and go hire a real coach.
