If Jackson injury serious, what are options?

Undersized guy. About 270 coming in. Can't figure why they reached on this guy and not one closer to home.

I'm just guessing here, but I bet it's because they are much better talent evaluators than any of us and get paid millions of dollars for that ability to see a guy's potential.

Raulerson can step up any time and prove me wrong. I don't give rip how much someone gets paid. We live in a country where Donald Trump is a viable presidential candidate. Look at the yahoos who compile recruiting rankings. Not exactly Rhodes scholars.

Plenty of options to replace Jackson just maybe not to his level. We got Big Charles, Weisman or Sanders. Or C. Thomas could probably be a good guard. We also got V. Boulware.

TOS has several longtime posters saying Jackson has a broken arm and will be out estimated 8-10 weeks.
Hopefully, those rumors are wrong.
We will probably find out tomorrow.

First off, has he already redshirted?
Would he be eligible for a medical redshirt?
As for Team 119, how does this shakeup the starting Oline?

Even if he is out for 10 weeks, which you cited as the maximum. That is hardly a season ending injury at this point. He would theoretically be available by the beginning of November and be available to play in 6 or 7 games.

Raulerson's offer list was average which means there were a bunch of coaches making millions that evaluated him and didn't believe he had enough potential to offer him a scholarship. Recruiting is never perfect. Butch makes mistakes like everyone else even in recruiting. Raulerson is still a Freshman though so I wouldn't give up on him yet.

Which is true. He was a guard who had never played tackle that was thrust into the position due to injuries and no one better. He had to prepare each week for games last year and could not spend very much time working on technique of playing the position. Just the way it was.

What I'm being told is he has spent a tremendous amount of this off season working technique and learning how to be a tackle. At this point that has paid off in that he is far ahead of anyone else at that position.

The season will tell all of us if the staff is right or wrong with their assessment.

So true and we don't give him near the credit he deserves. If we had a good LT while he was here, we would be talking about how he is one of our best O-Lineman at guard like we do with Jackson. The fact that he was the best one to take the LT spot, and still is, when others who should have been better tells you how good he is overall. Not to mention he's definitely VFL and done all he can during these tough years.

No one stepping up to challenge Kyler Kerbyson is very concerning.....He's the best answer at LT presently. Now the Vol's have more worries, with Marcus Jackson's injury.....got to get this Oline fixed......soon

I had no idea who the thread was even talking about until just now. Thank you for being the only one in 59 posts to actually mention the players full name.

In a 80+ person roster please use the whole name of a player. If not in the title then somewhere in the OP.

But he's generally not a good source on injuries.
In fact, it seems to me that in the CBJ era that injury reports usually come from message boards/social media before traditional mediA and any confirmation from UT.
Still hoping it's not significant.

Those Jacksons can get confusing...

Will preseason injuries, cast shadows of doubt, on otherwise upbeat Tennessee football predictions?
