False. The boosters would have arranged the deal, Hamilton would jumped at the chance to sign Gruden, the presser would have gone down as planned, and BAM- Herbstreit, Fowler, and Corso would be in Atlanta talking about how there were two winners in the SEC today.
THAT, right there, is the definition of irony to me.
Yes, because Hart fought the boosters. Right. My point wasn't that Hamilton was a good AD. Good grief. I don't think anyone, anywhere, would try to make that case.
My point was that Hamilton, unlike Hart, would probably not have put up a fight if the big money guys had gone off and laid the groundwork for Gruden. That's the irony of it, situational irony anyway- we were elated when Hamilton got sent packing, relatively thrilled (at least, I think most of us were) when a real AD with experience was hired, but now we're somewhat pissed that our experienced AD made a power play and shot down Grudenmania. Be careful what you wish for, and all that. I find that ironic.

That's right let's go assbackwards!!!The boosters would have arranged the deal, Hamilton would jumped at the chance to sign Gruden, the presser would have gone down as planned, and BAM- Herbstreit, Fowler, and Corso would be in Atlanta talking about how there were two winners in the SEC today.

Ole Hammy was one of the worst things to ever happen to UT.....Hambone was about as bright as a bag full of dirt.....
