IF Nico plays tomorrow, what welcome will he receive?

Especially considering that is Michael Jordan's plane. You can see his logo on the back fin.
See what’s happening is that UCLA is now a Jordan Brand school and so they flew into Nashville and not Knoxville bc they didn’t want to make it look suspicious.

He’s gotta leave now. There’s really no fixing the relationship with the fanbase at this point. And as crazy as this sounds, if we were gonna take a hit the qb room is the place to see someone leave. Any qb on the roster can do screen and shovel passes. Who knows? Maybe Merk can come out and really sling it next year.

I’d say there’s an 80% chance that Nico ends up regretting this move.
Whatever the circumstances and whatever the actual facts are, there is substantial relationship damage between Nico and Tennessee fans. I would like to get Heupel's take on the whole thing before passing judgment though. Maybe this is all a huge misunderstanding and the fans will be eating crow, maybe Nico is greedy and he deserves whatever booing he gets. I really don't know. However, he is still a very young man. There are smart people in the athletic department and there are smart people representing Nico. Surely those smart people can/will sit down and hash this out.

If he still supports Nico after all this garbage, Heupel is nothing but a toad.

It won’t be like that. I don’t think the fanbase is that angry. It’s frustrating because of the position Nico has put our coaches and players in but it’ll make me cheer for other guys that much more. Nico hurt himself more than anyone. It’s sad, really.
Yes I agree, should have put it in blue font lol. We’ll be fine

Last summer I walked into Alumni Hall and there was table with at least a half dozen different styles of Nico t-shirts. I knew it was WAYYYYY too early to buy and wear a t-shirt supporting a player who had started…ONE GAME! Damn. All that time learning how to pronounce his name….

I hate to be this guy, but how do you think Nick Saban handles something like this? Because I guarantee if he missed practice and pulled a stunt like this, there would be no negotiating at all. He'd be cut.

Tennessee needs to call his bluff and send him down the road.

He’s not, I’m good with him walking but some will think the sky is falling. 9th rated qb in the sec
And what do you think Merk was rated in the SEC?

While the sky isn't falling, Nico really wasn't being challenged by Merk or G-Mac for 1st team reps. If he was 9th, Merk apparently isn't 8th.

I'll agree we can't panic about it but it's a pretty big dent to have your SEC QB1 walk off in April.

Let's be real. Everyone swearing oaths they never want him back will be the ones cheering the loudest if he comes back and throws a game winning TD against the Gators.

If he leaves he leaves, but if he stays and they work this out I'm good with it. I just think the kid is getting some bad advice. And it's not like he is out bad mouthing us. His dad is the one that talks too much.

Nick often had them stacked like Tua and Jalen Hurts.

If your star, 1st round QB is having a rough day in the biggest game of the year, put in the amazing, also 1st round true freshman to throw to your amazingly talented 1st round wide receiver.

Replacing people is much easier when you have the top recruiting class most years.

For me, it's the apparent surprise to everyone on the staff and team no show at the walk thru that's line in the sand he crossed.

Don't just not show up and then go silent (supposedly) to everyone. Leveraging your position for more money is a d*ck move, but it's an understandable d*ck move about money.

No call, no show for a team walk thru before the O&W Game????? Nope. That's not just a d*ck move, that's disrespectful to your team and coaches. Especially since it was said they had a coaches and QBs dinner the night before. Nope. Just nope.

Coming back from that is not really an option.
