If Pearl did end up in Memphis

You're obviously a racist.

Wouldn't that make him xenophobic?

And I don't think it can really be debated whether or not either of Nash's MVPs were deserved. The MVP of a league should at least know how to spell defense, actually playing some would be a bonus, too.

I realize that, I was kidding. I figured racist was more entertaining than jingoist.

I'm sure you liked that one too?
No, Karl Malone was one of the few NBA players I deplore more than Nash.

Jeez. I was kidding.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with hatvol. I can't stand Steve Nash.

Steve Nash is the most exciting player to watch in the NBA IMO. He makes people look ridiculous with little effort on his end. Ohh, and he's South African.

He's a dang ole canadian. He was born in South African, but raised in Canada (AKA America's Top-Hat). He also plays basketball for the Canadian National Team. Canada is like a loft apartment above a really awesome party.

He also has an uncanny ability to make people playing offense against him look otherworldly. I assume you find that exciting too. Career nights from the opposing guy are awesome. I suspect that Tony Parker prays for nights against Nash.

81 points in a game was exciting, and Lebron James is exciting as well. I would put those two above Steve Nash easily.

If there's one thing we've learned from recent history, it's that it's harder then it looks, to hire a good men's basketball coach at UT:

Ray Mears - 1962 to 1978;
Don DeVoe - 1978 to 1989;
Wade Houston - 1989 to 1994;
Kevin O'Neil 1994 to 1997;
Jerry Green 1997 to 2001;
Buzz Peterson - 2001 to 2005;

Bruce Pearl 2005 to present.

None of them have made it past the sweet 16. Before Pearl got here, 3 of the last 4 were fired. That's the point people are trying to make. If it was so easy to replace Pearl, then why did it take so long for the Univ to find him?

Remind me who hired the names you have in bold.

Every coach on that list not hired by Doug Dickey has been at least fairly successful.

The saddest is Wade Houston coaching for 5 yrs:

Houston's overall record at Tennessee was 65-90, for an average record of 13-18 over five seasons. In five years, he twice tied the all-time single-season record for losses at UT (22), including the school's all-time worst record of 5-22 in 1994, his final season.[2]
