If Scout.com had been right about Michael Palardy being the top kicker when he signed with Tennessee, then CDD's seat would not be white hot right now.

I could imagine a great kicker would have saved at least 5 or 6 games for UT over the last 3 years.

Including the loss against Mizzu on Saturday.

A defense a little less like a sieve could have also saved his job

And if I were 6'6'', 245 lbs, had a laser rocket arm, and ran a 4.1 40, I'd be the greatest QB ever to play.

Not if you got the wrong knee injury in high school.

Edit: or if you were a head case like Ryan Leaf.

dooley does not get paid to rely on scout and the fact that we have not brought someone reliable on board is an indictment of his own abilities to recruit and identify weaknesses

Scouts also rated JM a 3 star QB at AtM....

I dont listen to those idiots.....

They rate a 6'3 WR a 5 star coming out of highschool.

But every game he was playing vs. a 5'8 corner that now works at Burgerking...

He was the top recruit. But he wasn't coached well and Dooley knew after year one he needed a kicker. He failed to recruit one for the next two seasons. So this falls right back on why we don't need him coaching the Vols

I think we brought in a preferred walk on the next year and then gave a scholly to a kicker (who got hurt) last year. He's been stupid about lots of things, but he's tried to find us a kicker every year he's been here.

Are you serious!? You want to blame a HS recruiting service for Dooley's inability to lead and coach? We will forward you Dooley's next spot and you can follow him there and blindy kiss his butt all you want. But understaand this, he will not be here next year because of himself only, and no one else!

Think of all the close losses in the Dooley era

LSU*
Georgia (twice)
S Carolina (twice)
No Carolina*
Kentucky
MSU
Missouri

We won these close ones:
UAB
Vandy

Everything that could go wrong for Dooley has gone wrong, at the worst possible moment.

Ask Bobby Bowden how easy it is to find a good kicker.

As for Palardy, he was Kiffin's recruit not CDD's although Dooley has tried but not succeeded in finding a replacment. In general, there are far more bad kickers than good ones out there. Not an easy spot to fill on any team.

You are correct. The kicking game has cost us a number of games.

Wow, I guess Doolovers can add Scout.com to the list of everyone whose fault it really is that their boy can't coach
