Usually . . . The greatest predictor of the future is past performance. There was a reason almost every UT fan was saying during the Longwood game “gosh, I worry we are not saving some of these made shots for the next game.”
UT consistently had scoring droughts this year. It was highly probable they would have one at the wrong time in the tournament. Shooting below 20% from 3 was something this team did. If Chandler had not played out of his mind . . . Our 2/18 performance would have been a double digit blowout.
I don’t know why . . . But scoring droughts have been a thing with UT basketball for several years.
ZZ / JJJ / and Vescovi had open looks in the second half . . . And shot brick after brick.
I blame our scoring droughts on UT not recruiting any pure scorers and Barnes insistence that defense is more important than offense.
