Recruiting Report: Josh Selby will reveal college choice Saturday - Baltimoresun.com's Matt Bracken on University of Maryland, local and national recruiting news - baltimoresun.com

The Volunteers were somewhat of a surprise late addition to Selby's final list. Selby, Rivals.com's No. 4 senior in the country, committed to Tennessee in Sept. 2008 before backing out of his pledge last July.

"We've always had a relationship with [Volunteers assistant coach Steve] Forbes. We've always talked to Coach Forbes," Witherspoon said. "Josh knows a lot of the players, especially Tobias Harris and Scotty Hopson. They've been trying to recruit him. He spent time with Tobias Harris at the McDonald's game."

Maybe his mom and Maymon's dad will get together. Then Selby will be gone after a year and Maymon will be gone once people realize he's the next Tony Passley, Marques Johnson, etc. Then we can just forget about this entire ordeal.

Players need to quit letting there moms and grandmas decide what their future should be. He should go wherever he feels like he needs to be and wherever he is most comfortable at, regardless if it's UT or not. I would love to have him here but it won't be the end of the world if he ends up somewhere else.

I'm normally not one to tout hat's posts, but people have totally glossed over this key comment. I'll give anyone three guesses as to who's he's referring to and, if you take more than one guess to get it right, you get a swift kick in the ass.

Yea, I saw it. I had heard that there was a lot of negative recruiting going on by Cal. It would be awesome to be able to stick it to him by landing Selby.

Why would Cal ever have to use negative recruiting against a lowly school like UT? I mean, Kentucky IS the light shining on the hill, setting the example for all of college athletics. I just can't believe this.

Still hearing Selby's a Tennessee lean with a big wink and a smile right after my dude says it! There is a school of thought that some of the questions Selby's mother had were answered in March....

He is going to announce at the Jordan/Nike game right. Tennessee is a Adidas school. The kid is going to Kansas or Kentucky.
