settles for Mike Gumby or Dumbo Fisher, we deserve to become another Colorado.

If it isn't Gruden or Stoops, give me Charlie Strong.

If it's none of three, somebody crank up some bulldozers and push Neyland off in the river, and let the women's soccer team play on Shields-Watkins Field.

We clearly aren't serious about football anymore if we hire some of the dip **** names we are supposedly talking to.

I want to win.

I would be shocked if stoops or gruden came at this pt. I can't believe we have gotten this bad.

Write another guy into the delusional part of our fanbase..

If Auburn hired Fisher away from Florida State we'd probably be saying.. Wow they're more serious than we are...

But if he comes here we should bulldoze the stadium? Lol.

Gruden has never coached in college and doesn't want to now, and Stoops is making 5 large a year at OKLAHOMA! So if we can't get those 2 we're not being "serious"? Give me a break... You're prolly late for your 4th period class.

Really, Grudens out, Stoops is the 6 million dollar man.

but you think Strong is the man to put this program in the top 5 again?
I'm ok with Strong, but he's no top 5 coach

This is one of the things I love ...... let's just keep hiring Alabama and Florida's leftovers till Gruden comes around begging for a job. This might actually work in 10,20,or 30 years.

This is really the kind of level-headed thinking that's needed in this situation.

You do realize that Bob Stoops was a DC when he was named Head Coach at Oklahoma back in '99, right? He was a nice hire, but not exactly a "Home Run"

If you're looking for a PROVEN winner that the whole fanbase can get behind.. Go back up the Cash Truck to TCU and get Patterson.. That program has hit its ceiling.. He's taken them to their highest of highs already.

I do not want Gundy. But Gundy is better than Strong. Strong has had a few DECENT seasons at LOUISVILLE!! LOUISVILLE!!

Not proven.:peace2:

Given what our program has gone through the last 4-5 years, hiring Fisher or Gundy would be a pretty nice step in the right direction IMO

It could be worse

My first option would still be Jim Mora Jr. Hands down better than Fisher, Strong, and Gundy.

Try using the GOOGLE machine on your computer and look up the careers of the following:

Steve Spurrier, Bob Stoops, Brian Kelley, Chip Kelley, Urban Meyer, Mack Brown, Will Muschamp, Les Miles, Frank Beamer, Mark Richt, Kevin Sumlin, Jim Tressel.....just to name a few.

Read their given prior coaching jobs before becoming Head Coaches....to have a recent conference winning HEAD Coaches like Jimbo Fisher, Mike Gundy, and Charlie Strong as candidates that are interviewing with interest of our program is FLAT OUT BAD :shaking2: my man. Even Larry Fedora....we are going after flat out proven winners. It is funny how many of these guys have been through the doors of Oklahoma State.

What more does this fan base want?

I don't know why you are even posting this, since Gruden has been and is a done deal.
This thought process not only doesn't jibe with your stance about Gruden, but it's already the start of the kind of bs we won't need around all offseason. You did it last off season, and you are already setting up to do it again. Whomever is the coach, will be the coach, no matter how much you whine about it.

I suggest just shutting up for a little while, letting it take its course, then get behind the team and new coaching staff for recruiting and current players, as well as next years team. If you can't do that, then you have no room to be critical.

One does have to wonder why anyone would take the Tennessee job given the expectations of the fan base. If you haven't won ten Super Bowls, you suck, and if you have but don't want the job, you suck. We deserve to be where we are.

I wanna take these threads seriously, but as soon as an OP starts calling people by nicknames like Dumbo or Gumby, I immediately stop reading.

Good lord, just call them by their actual names, make your point, and move on.

Here is my take on this situation.....not that it matters.
Gundy has most experience as HC.
Decent win pctg. of around 65%.
Not a bad name...but not a big one.
Exp at a relatively big school.

Fisher has 3 yrs HC exp
Win pctg of 75%
Prob the biggest recognized name
Exp with a top tier program

Strong has 3 yrs HC exp
Win pctg around 65%
Least recognized name of all 3
No exp as HC of a big program

Those are my picks in order......if thats all we have to pick from. Ugh........

Arkansas and Auburn are in the same boat. There is no homerun hire jumping ship for a bad team.

No one is a home run hire , until they hit the field and actually hit the home runs
