If the conference tournaments mean very little to the committee. Then rest your starters.

Next year game 1. Put 3 players on the court to start the game.

Then substitute and beat the living crap out of the opponent.

Are you asking why Fulky cut them down instead of Coach Barnes?

No. This was a classic moment of Fulky's teammates honoring him (Fulky), and Fulky showing how much he loved Tennessee.

The station I was watching, cut away for another game. We did not get to see the cutting down of the nets, nor the giving out of the championship or MVP trophies. Why have we seen other teams doing this throughout the years, but when Tennessee finally wins, they cut to something else as if it is unimportant?

Coach Barnes said in the Presser (that was shown on another video feed) that he made the decision to let the players do that, because this was far from his first rodeo.

Thanks for the clarification, i2amavol. I understand now and agree.

Heck I’ll double down and say what’s the point of scheduling tough non-conference games? St. Mary’s had a Strength of Schedule around 50 and we’re 4-7 in quad1 games. They played NoDame (W+3) & Wisconsin (L -6). Beaten easily by ColoSt, SanDeigoSt, & BYU. StMys went 1-3 vs seeds 1-4. So they get an overall seed of 19/68 and is 5 in East region.
VOLS played a top 3 sos, went 11-7 vs Quad1, and went 5-4 vs teams seeded 1-4! What did that earn them? An overall 10 seed ( 3 in South).
9 spots higher. It’s pointless and a joke.
UT should schedule 14 cupcakes and win 25 games every year.
I can’t stand the NCAA!
there rant over

I get the feeling it would have mattered if we had lost to Kentucky on Saturday. We would have probably been dropped to a 4 seed. Kentucky would have gotten a 1 seed from winning the tournament on Sunday. That's just how it is. We're not a blue blood.

If the tournaments don't really mean anything anymore I can see the shoo-in teams just sitting their starters to allow bubble teams a chance to win just to insure they get a bid.
