If UT wins the SEC Tourney...

Should Martin be safe from being fired if UT wins the SEC Tourney?

I think it's a fair question OP. Different fans have different levels of expectations thus different opinions on what it would take to secure his job. While I think Cuonzo is not the solution for success at TN and don't believe he'll be here more than a couple of more years, there is no way you could fire him if he won the SEC tournament. IMO.

What logic would that bring that if CCM wins the SEC tourney he's fired? Like seriously.

I'm with you on the bolded. I'm still on the wait and see bandwagon with CCM.

Didn't the Gators lose in the SEC Tourney the last time they won the NCAA?

they actually won the sec tournament both seasons that they won the ncaa tournament.

i don't really think it's that big of a deal. i just get nervous about the 20+ game winning streak and the whole law of averages thing.

superstition i guess.

i will be interested to see if minutes for certain guys are different than during the year.

i expect young's minutes to be down and chris walker's minutes to be up. wilbekin's minutes may go down and hill's minutes may go up as well.

i actually am starting to believe that tennessee will win the sec tournament by the way.

however, i have been on this board long enough to know what happens when you start believing in a tennessee team.

Should Martin keep his job? I'm just curious on what people's thoughts are about this, so vote in the poll and explain your vote.

No, I think they should fire him immediately after doing something that has'nt been done at UT since 1979. :loco:

Sometimes you just gotta tell the Mom that the baby is ugly.

Nobody thinks their own kids are ugly, regardless of what other people think. :)

The notion is silly, but you and I both know many reading this thread think CM should be fired regardless of what happens the rest of the way.

Our SECT curse is a strong one. Don't be fooled by the shiny appearance.

OK. The Gators are the real deal for sure and ya'll have maybe the best coach in the NCAA IMHO.

tennessee is team that has the best combination of talent that still has something to play for.

i joked after they blew out vanderbilt that auburn was a lock because tennessee couldn't play like that 2 games in row.....both in terms of effort and execution.

then, they blow out auburn and missouri. and missouri was a real pressure game.

so, i don't know if tennessee is picking that right time to show up or if they are setting everyone up for an ultimate fail.

but, as i have said before, any team that can put mcrae and stokes on the floor and consistently control the backboard is a team to be reckoned with.

exactly who I thought of, and I'm pretty sure we can say that didn't work out well for him or Georgia the next season

Different circumstance though. Felton's record was in Wade Houston territory.

True. My biggest issue here is that we currently have a $50 bill in our pocket and a machine in front of us that says "deposit $50 and we'll give you $100 in return" and people are saying "nah, I'm good with my $50."

for anyone who doesn't get it, it's a metaphor for CM and BP

I agree. It's just hard for me to buy in because we have been so consistently inconsistent this year. The potential is there, however. No question.
