If it were to happen, which it won't, it would have to be a team the caliber of WVA or GT. Teams that draw the fans and have some history.

If that's the argument, you better pick WVU instead of Ga Tech. Even though they are in an area with 4 million people within 20 miles, they have trouble drawing fans sometimes and even in Atlanta they are a distant 2nd to UGA.

I think next year will be Vandy's year to go to a bo. . . bo . . .bow . . . b. . . :eek:lol:
Sorry, I just can't say it with a straight face.

Now that was funny as hell Gavol.According to my Athlon sports magazine this year,Vandy had 10 offense and 11 defensive starters returning this year,so this was there year.

I'll believe it when I see it. Our Touchdown Club has the Vandy coach speak almost every year and whether it's been: Watson Brown, Rod Dowhower, Woddy Widenhoffer or Bobby Johnson, the speech is always the same and nobody ever takes them seriously when they talk about building a winner at Vandy.

BTW - I had to take Bobby Johnson from Macon to the Atlanta airport last year. I spent an hour and a half going down I-75 wishing I had an ejector seat in my car. That guy has the personality of a doorknob.

Vandy has been decent in basketball, if we are talking about losing them altogether then I vote for Louisville - football has come on, they have a new stadium that gets good attendance and of course, we'd be bringing back Pitino-ball to the SEC (at least until he goes somewhere else). Might also spread the "love" of southern football towards the midwest.

Even though I voted for Memphis, to keep the Tennessee influence, I would rather have picked Georgia Tech to reunite the original SEC.

Nobody gives a d@mn about Memphis football...

There are many people in the Memphis area who care about Memphis football, including me. I might even go as far as to say that the are more Memphis Tigers fans in the area than Volunteer fans. It sounds to me like you're afraid to have Memphis in the SEC because they could frequently upset Memphis. For me, Louisville is too close to the Mason-Dixon Line, but I think GA Tech would make a nice addition to the SEC. Go Vols and Tigers!

1. They are South of the Mason-Dixon Line (use to be part of Virginia so that ends your not southern bit)
2. TV revenue
3. geographic expansion into the Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and DC area especially for TV
4. Rabid Fans that neither Memphis, Louisville nor Southern Miss can touch
5. Recruiting
6. a better program in football and overall
7. MONEY

is Vandy really going anywhere?

The buffet line for an end of season banquet. [/quote]
Can you imagine ATTENDING Vandy's end of season banquet? Well we had 2 more wins this year . . .

I've had something like that before. We were 2-7 freshman year but we still had a good banquet. We tried not to focus on the record.

BCS season is coming up, I gotta start pullin' for the Pac. Don't worry, I'll still be rooting for the Vols, though. :good:

I don't want a bunch of yankee fans in the Southeastern Conference. (Keep in mind, this is a Southern conference.)

Southern Conference or not it is the only real choice out there that will help the SEC. the College football world revolves around TV packages and Fan base and WV has that over all teams in this poll. GT will not leave the ACC, no matter how they are doing right now Louisville, Memphis and Southern Miss are 2 tier teams and if your losing a 2nd tier team in Vandy you don't want or need another one.

I don't consider Louisville a 2 tier team. At least not this year.

They would have to be the favorites to win the Big East next year you would think.

<- :D

I'm just representing the Pac-10 with this. I'll be rooting for the Trojans in the NC game.

Come to think of it, I think Louisville would make a great addition to the SEC. They sure as hell won't be going anywhere in C-USA. I think that might possibly be the worst I-A conference in the country...
