The democrat's would still blame the republicans and the republicans would still blame the democrats. It won't change anything.

You want to change things, get rid of the mindset in this country that the govt should be responsible for taking care of the citizens. All we should want or need from govt is infrastructure (roads) and defense.

That would go a long ways toward fixing a lot of what's wrong. I think we have too many people with the easy way out mindset for this to become a reality.

Too many people want to take the easy road. Hard to believe there was a time in this country when people were embaressed to ask for money from the govt.

And not that long ago. My grandparents lived in a bare plank, five room house back up in the hills. They were subsistence farmers for the most part. When someone tried to get them to apply for welfare, they responded that it was for poor people. They had too much pride and personal responsibility to take it.
