If we can't beat Bama this year...

SOS, 31st in the nation, but SOS is always tits on a bull. Who you play, when you play, where you play, who's playing, who's hurt. Nonsense, more or less.

BAMA is still passing the eye test. They are strangling offenses to death and are so offensively balanced that the opponent can't get off their heels.

Who is ranking that schedule 31st? Is that the entire schedule, or the first seven games? That's more realistic if it's ranking all 12 games.

They're obviously a great team, but after FSU - Clemson, FSU looks like the best team in the nation.

Having trouble believing what you see? Some players/opponents struggle with the same affliction.

It's the sudden thump that brings most to reality.

See the remote, be the remote. FSU has got 7 games to prove your theory correct. It's only a place no one in the Seminole program has ever been. Prove it?

Huh? FSU has won plenty of National Championships.

Between FSU, Oregon, & Bama this year's finale should be interesting. Bama being in the SEC and having to play the SECCG, IMO, means they have the best chance of slipping up (tougher road to NCG).

I'll be pissed if another Notre Lame slips in that has zero business even sniffing the NCG *cough* Ohio State

Oregon's gotta make it past Stanford. I don't see anyone beating FSU, but they always drop one they shouldn't.

They also have Winston this go around, so we'll see.

What the heck are you trying to say here?

Do you think I'm delusional for suggesting that other undefeated teams have played a tougher schedule than Bama so far?

Once upon a time Bobby Bowden did coach there. How much carry over are you expecting? Bama wasn't ready for Texas because coach Bryant won a few NCs in his time.

As far as the SEC gauntlet is concerned, so be it, It seems to make us a tough out in January.

It's not a theory.
He's just saying that FSU's win over Clemson is more impressive than any victory Bama has so far.

I think that if we lose by one point on a hail mary pass, Bama will still be #1.
They are ranked #1 because of what they've done the last few years, and I don't see the voters changing their minds. Subjective polls will always be exactly that.

I think if we make Alabama break a sweat there are enough PAC-12 and anti-SEC voters out there that Oregon jumps them in the polls.

Lets at least play them close enough, and make them look bad enough to where they get jumped by Oregon and Florida State in the rankings and ruin their Nat'l Championship hopes! If we can manage to do that, that will be victory enough for me this year! Screw the whole "SEC Brotherhood" philosophy! Buck Fama!

You just agreed to accepting a moral victory. Derek?

I think you are delusional for thinking that the stats of any team necessarily makes them better or more worthy then Bama. It is impossible, absolutely impossible, to have a totally unbiased discussion about college football, when one and all have a dog in the fight, directly, or indirectly. Face it, you have all your own reasons to explain away the stats you are looking for to give you the answers you seek.

The cool thing about college football, it has a way of settling itself. What, 7 or 8 undefeated teams with still HALF the season to go? Including rival games, CCGs, BCS polls will all the pressure that entails, coming down the home stretch. Stats will have a lot less to do with most of this than the humans that play the game.

I don't see Oregon having too big of a problem beating Stanford after they dropped one to Utah, but I agree it will be their biggest challenge.

If we can't beat Bama, I personally hope you guys go to the NCG and play Oregon. I've been itching for that match up for years now, especially last year. Would've been a far better game than Notre Lame offered.

Yep, but as noted, if the seminoles stay awake, they have the easier path. The ducks have got to bring their A-offensive performance each time out and especially against the big boys. And that oregon DC this week may have seen some cracks in his defensive armor that he fears others will get a look at and exploit.

Florida State's defense and the QB's improvising and poise, frankly, makes them the more dangerous team to me.

You, not me, brought statistics into the discussion, and you're calling me delusional for pointing at stats, and you're saying stats will have little to do with the final rankings. Awesome.
All I'm saying is that other undefeated teams have played tougher schedules than Bama so far. That's it. Not saying anyone's better or worse. Just saying other teams have been tested more often so far. It's not even all Bama's fault. If Dooley were still here, we'd just be cupcake number five for you. Our win over South Carolina helped your schedule, because you play us and not them.

The Real Reasons Bama is #1 (you really think the voters are analyzing it that much?):

1) The SEC has won the past seven national titles, and Bama is currently undefeated in the SEC.
2) Bama has won the past two national titles and is currently undefeated overall.

It really is that simple.
Tusk's analysis would have to be weighted against strength of schedule.

I agree. When you've won the last 2 NC's and 3 out of the last 4 that's the respect you get, to be the man you have to beat the man. Bama could win every game by 1 point and Oregon and FSU could beat everybody by 60+ and Bama would still be #1, till they lose.

I'm also the one who spoke about the eye test, believing what you see, see the remote, be the remote. Probably as close as we are going to get, it is BAMA/tenn week.

So? You are STILL the one that brought stats into the discussion to prove your point, then said it was delusional to do so.

Question for all. If you could have UT win, but it costed you $200 would you take that or Alabama winning for free? Now to make it tricky what if you could just pay $100 and garontee that Alabama wouldnt play good and had no TDs witch then?
