If we don't figure out these offensive scoring slumps,

Even after a great season, beating the 14th ranked team and earning a 2 seed somehow it’s always…………..the sky is falling!

In a game like this, you could have a similar observation about Arkansas’ offensive ineptitude in the first half. Basketball is a game of runs. It isn’t unique to Tennessee. Tons of examples every week of good teams having droughts.
Correct .... and Tennessee's offense is running much smoother now than it was in January. Adjustments have been, and we have seen a difference. JJJ sure has stepped up his game - at least at home. That doesn't mean we are above having some bad stretches. Nobody is.

This team needs a consistent post threat, someone to dump the ball into to get a good look or a trip to the line, or a quality pass out of the post.

I don't think they are changing at this point. But we should get too high a seed to worry about losing early imo. We are good enough on defense to make life miserable for early round type teams.
Yep. If we’re a 3 seed we will play 14 and then the winner of 6/11. Those are games we should win.

It just baffles me how much chandler is struggling at the line. He needs to work on his free throws all week.
It would help if he would look at the basket before he shoots. I’ve never seen anyone look down until they shoot.

Great win today, glad Fulky leaves an undefeated home court season on a high note against a talented team, but to piss away a 24 point lead at home is disgraceful and a hard reminder of the Barnes Ceiling that is ever present when there are no top shelf assistant coaches on the bench in a tight game to switch up the defenses or call an inbound play to get a basket to stop the flow on the other side. Barnes did call a couple of time outs to calm the waters, but the in game adjustments were not there and in tournament games you cannot expect the other team to fumble away the ball or an inbounds pass, Tennessee does not have the killer instinct or the ability to sail away with a 20 point lead as that mindset and skill set is currently not on the Tennessee bench.

Spot on assessment. Couldn’t agree more. Our bigs are too soft. I hope between UP, BHH and Aidoo we can get some consistency but it hasn’t happened yet. Hopefully it will improve but not sure we will see it this year.

We just cannot play slow. Regardless of score, we should continue to play uptempo. We get alot better looks when we push tempo!!

They used to teach bending your knees and using the force from then extending up to propel the ball to the rim. Kennedy looks stiff legged and just uses a wrist flip. Leaves a lot of FT attempts shot for that reason.
Been saying that all season; he uses virtually no leg in his free throws. I also, personally, never left the line once I found my spot and got set. Now it seems that everyone has to come off to get a hand slap, then reset. To each their own, but it seems very inconsistent to me…..but then again, others do it and shoot high percentages, so what do I know 🤣

Its frustrating I agree. But this team is 23-7 and 14-4 in a very good SEC even with scoring droughts all year.

Problem is that we were only 6-4 in the SEC on the road and we aren’t playing at home anymore. 6-4 on the road in a good conference isn’t bad at all but I could see us making a first or second round exit just as easily as I see us making the sweet 16. I think it’s going to be all about the match-ups. I think we will do best against teams whose strength is their offense rather than defense

Many may disagree but I like what Plav has been doing. Other than Aidoo’s shot blocking I think Plav is the best of the bunch right now.

Scoring droughts like we saw today will keep the Vols out of the Elite 8. I honestly don't get it! They have so much talent but not one guy can take over and get a much needed basket.

first halves like we saw today and D like we been seeing most all season very well might get the Vols to an elite 8.

I don’t get it……..but I’m happy.
