Correct .... and Tennessee's offense is running much smoother now than it was in January. Adjustments have been, and we have seen a difference. JJJ sure has stepped up his game - at least at home. That doesn't mean we are above having some bad stretches. Nobody is.In a game like this, you could have a similar observation about Arkansas’ offensive ineptitude in the first half. Basketball is a game of runs. It isn’t unique to Tennessee. Tons of examples every week of good teams having droughts.
This team needs a consistent post threat, someone to dump the ball into to get a good look or a trip to the line, or a quality pass out of the post.
Great win today, glad Fulky leaves an undefeated home court season on a high note against a talented team, but to piss away a 24 point lead at home is disgraceful and a hard reminder of the Barnes Ceiling that is ever present when there are no top shelf assistant coaches on the bench in a tight game to switch up the defenses or call an inbound play to get a basket to stop the flow on the other side. Barnes did call a couple of time outs to calm the waters, but the in game adjustments were not there and in tournament games you cannot expect the other team to fumble away the ball or an inbounds pass, Tennessee does not have the killer instinct or the ability to sail away with a 20 point lead as that mindset and skill set is currently not on the Tennessee bench.

Been saying that all season; he uses virtually no leg in his free throws. I also, personally, never left the line once I found my spot and got set. Now it seems that everyone has to come off to get a hand slap, then reset. To each their own, but it seems very inconsistent to me…..but then again, others do it and shoot high percentages, so what do I knowThey used to teach bending your knees and using the force from then extending up to propel the ball to the rim. Kennedy looks stiff legged and just uses a wrist flip. Leaves a lot of FT attempts shot for that reason.
Its frustrating I agree. But this team is 23-7 and 14-4 in a very good SEC even with scoring droughts all year.
Spot on assessment. Couldn’t agree more. Our bigs are too soft. I hope between UP, BHH and Aidoo we can get some consistency but it hasn’t happened yet. Hopefully it will improve but not sure we will see it this year.
Scoring droughts like we saw today will keep the Vols out of the Elite 8. I honestly don't get it! They have so much talent but not one guy can take over and get a much needed basket.
