If we don't get Prater...

the * ratings are worthless because they're generally provided by film nerds and and reporter types. If there was some real football analysis going on, they would be worth more, but would still be massively inexact because that's just the nature of trying to "pro forma" players.

That said, Carroll's squad would be a monster in the SEC and recruiting is every bit as important as all of the other facets of coaching at the highest levels.

Agreed.

I would take Robert Woods just as easily as Prater. He has at least given UT the nod for a definite official visit, although most feel he is a heavy USC lean.

Maybe one of them will commit and the other will realize their time will be better spent at UT, where they are THE big receiver target, rather than splitting with the other.

Otherwise, that will be the most dominant 1-2 WR combo in the country for 2 of the next 4 years.

I dont think they know that much. Milton seems like is was ready to commit a while back but wanted his parents to visit before he did. So the QB question was not a concern for him. Ambles was loosing interest from schools and the ones that he was still considering were starting to fill up. I do not really know nor do I care what his off field issues were but I do know from his interviews he has a big ego. Not to say that is a bad thing but he saw UT as a chance to start as a freshman, where I think some of his other choices that wouldn't have happened. Speculate all you want but these two really don't know anything other than they feel confident the coaches will get QBs in place.

Thanks, we will...

YOU speculate all YOU want, bammer...

it wouldnt matter if we dont get him. id say (but its not definite) that weve secured Ambles and Milton at this point. there you have two skilled WRs, one of them being a giant. from a class ranking standpoint, well we just got ourselves two 4* commits.

we have Nuke, Rodgers, Teague, and Green if he can make it from the 09 class. everyone here has been going gaga over Nuke so id say most are pleased already with that pick-up.

we will land another 2010 WR, Prater or not. perhaps Cobbs will commit and be turned into a WR. hes not bad, but hes not the best at WR either. however, thats what he wants to play. i certainly wouldnt turn him down.

from a star standpoint, having Prater would definatley help our rankings. from a skill standpoint, thatd help even more, but not having Prater wouldnt kill us either. Prater will be an immediate impact wherever he goes, but we have talent already.

lastly, i personally doubt that Prater will be a Vol. just not seeing it happen. also, i will trade Prater for Ambles, Milton, and [insert WR here] as a package ANYDAY. im very pleased with how our WR situation is shaping right now and wouldnt want it to change in anyway, even for Prater.

Well, what about when he's coming back? And if we're gonna get a QB ? Or if we're even gonna get a QB before he comes back ????

NICE DUDE! Ask him where the tree of life is? Or the Fountain of Youth...I want to be able to watch the vols FOREVER!

I'm not sure how much more dominant you'd want USC to be. After going 6-6 his first year and losing the Las Vegas Bowl, he's gone 82-9 winning the Pac10 every year and gone 6-1 in BCS bowl games. His only loss came to a pretty incredible Texas team.

Anyone who doesn't think they'd be at the top of the SEC is crazy.

he said that he will be back tomorrow, and that he will commit to UT as a QB as well, via ESPNs CFL. he will announce his return and the return of UT to prominence. we will have salvation.

and he will simultaneously verbally bash Tebow. he didnt give me any details, but said it will be a real treat.

The statement was misunderstood..or mistyped :) . The debate is if USC would be able to dominate the SEC like they the the PAC-10. They obviously would compete year end and year out...but dominate?

It's cool, dude. Whenever I'm in a thread it usually gets off topic, so don't sweat it....

We can talk about USC in here, too, if you like...

Actually it was in this thread... and sorry about the bandwidth comment. I think I'm going to back out of this one now before I do something else stupid.

It's ok. I like your style. You're a tough guy and I respect that. We could go on the run from the Mods together. Really.

They'll probably be here any second anyway to destroy all of my hard work. Gotta enjoy it while it lasts, and it's helped me learn to type faster...

And if we don't get Prater, we'll get Cobbs.
