IF we get past Michigan, Duke doesnt really scare me!!

Duke is a GREAT team and they got a GREAT coach, but i think we can hang with Duke if we learn to shoot the ball! Our defense really isnt that bad, just hope they dont take the last shot!!

Florida shot something like 82% in the second half against us, granted the refs sucked, our defense is really not that good.

They are too big and talented inside for us... We can match up outside with them though, and the way that Duke gets all the fouls called for them, I don't see that going over well... We can always hope though... However, let's take care of business against the Gayze and Blew first.

Who thinks we're going to get any good whistles in Charlotte against Duke? We couldn't even get them at home against Mississippi State?

Duke will beat Tennessee by at least 10-15 points if they play. If you think otherwise you are wrong. They will absolutely destroy our pathetic half court offense. They will outrebound us, murder our pathetic defense which over helps on each play. Kyle Singler will cause Scotty Hopson nightmares. There is absolutely no way we will beat them, no way.

Also, I wouldn't be too scared about overrated Pitt, especially since we beat them on their home court by 7 and lead throughout the entire game. Pitts the most overrated team in the country, they will be out by the elite 8.

It all depends on which team shows up. If the Pitt/Nova team shows up, we could have a great shot for a Sweet 16 run. We could beat any team in the country if we play our best basketball.

The Plumlee twins are scary too... I agree with all of your points though.

UT was a different team then. Pitt is in no way overrated.

Nova is nowhere near as good as everybody thought they were when we played them. They have 0 legit big men, whereas Duke has 3-4. Nova is 21-11 and their record the past 10 games is really bad. Bottomline, that win is no longer impressive. On the other hand, if we play like we did against Pittsburgh, which we have only played like one other time this season (against Memphis), then your right we do have a chance. The chances of that happening are extremely slim.

Beat Michigan first, then worry about Duke, don't even think about them until that happens.

Playing Duke in Charlotte should scare you if you want to see UT in the sweet 16. I've been wanting to play Duke too but it's not that all of a good matchup for us. We have to play an effective up tempo game. Dukes defense will destroy our half court offense. As long as we run and gun, I think we have a good shot. Brian Williams better bring his A game. Duke is so fundamentaly good that they will destroy our defense. I would love to see a bit more pressure against Smith and the rest of the backcourt and maybe be disruptive enough to disturb their halfcourt offense. When Duke is allowed to run their halfcourt sets, they are extremely tough to beat. We can NOT start out slow either (see North Carolina today). To beat Duke, we will have to play consistant basketball for 38-40 minutes (which we have rarely done this season). It's doable for sure and I'm excited!!

We should beat Michigan.

I think we got lucky with that matchup IMO....Tennessee should win that game

I just returned from watching Duke rip UNC in the ACC title game. If we get past Michigan Duke will light us up. All of their guys can shoot, and I mean all of them. Plus their defense is unreal. They press the ball handlers with no fear at all. I love my Vols but we will get crushed.

Yankee Vol, I agree, I would much rather have played UM than MSU or Cincy. Although, making UCLA come to North Carolina, would not have been bad.

Any year except this year I would have loved to play Duke but not this year. Ive always thought it was crap Coach K wouldn't ever play us but now if we win he will have to. The bad part is this years team is the one that has to suit up.

Is everyone really talking about the Vols playing Duke? Beating Michigan isn't going to happen. Sorry, but Pearl and Co. haven't given me one reason to believe that they can beat the Wolverines. Honestly, Belmont would beat them.

I sadly agree. But I believe this team is capable of beating anyone on a given night. Inconsistent defense has plagued the Vols since early in the season.
