I hope Butch will keep aggressively attacking. I hate to be critical because the coaching staff has done such a great job recruiting and creating a positive culture. However, I believe when we play a quality opponent he has a tendency to go extremely conservative if we get a lead... Such as this past Saturday. Same thing last year against SC and Vandy. We ended up coming back to beat sc after blowing our lead. A good team is going to keep attacking and unless we our in the fourth quarter, we have to continue to attack as well.

I want people on this board to be making "Tennessee just scored again" jokes all the way through Wednesday.

Our old curse with Dooley was getting 10 points early then not scoring again until we were already down by 20+. Ending the game with 17.

It'd be nice to hang 30+

I know we should beat Florida but it's hard to shake them. They are in my head until I see it happen. Based on what ive seen this year though, there is actually a chance we blow them out. Wouldn't shock me at all.

If we get up 10-17 points early, you better believe the crowd will make certain that UT keeps the foot on the gas

UF may be in our heads, but they're not in team 118s anymore. Hurd, Worley, AJ, JRM, Magitt, North, TKJr, Barnett... We've got some guys ready to turn this ish around. The loss to UGA only made them hungrier. If we had Von and Smith at 100%, I might pick us over bama THIS week.

Still, I think we're the most dangerous team in college football Saturday. Only a matter of time until the bomb goes off.

Alabama played sloppy against Florida early in the game, otherwise, Alabama could have dropped 100 on them.

What I hate about Florida is their "Gator Chomp" when they make a big play and rub it in the other teams face.

What I love about Florids is when it is apparent that they will lose a game, they will all sit and literally pout on the bench with their heads hung low.

Look at last years game against UGA, when the game was over mid way through the 4th. Look at the dejected players. The same one's who were giving us the chomp in Neyland just a few short weeks earlier.

I get a huge laugh when I see them dejected and pouting on the bench....... Especially their supposed star players.

You lost me here. I don't remember taking the foot off the gas. Georgia just woke up and started playing. I guess I missed something???????????

It could be that GA made adjustments but it seemed to me like we started running more often and throwing more conservative passes (screens and sidelines) as opposed to throwing down the middle of the field.

Butch hasn't ever seemed like the type to purposefully run up the score, but I bet he'd do it against Florida/Alabama/Vanderbilt if given the chance. He didn't get his job by being stupid. He knows what delivering an absolute pounding to a rival would mean to the fanbase.

The only problem is we have had leads the past 2 years.

True, but it was only a 7 point lead last year.

Can't remember how big a lead you guys had two years ago, but UF's defense in 2012 was on a different planet back then.

You guys should be fine with a 10-0 lead.

I'm guessing you Fla guys who are regular contributors to VN are licking your chops at all the, shall we call it "overconfidence" shown by most posters on here. They seem to have forgotten that this is Florida we're playing.

No way that anyone with a true sense of this series' history is talking about a UT blowout or anything else of the sort imo. Even when Tennessee was an elite national power, when we won vs Florida it was because we hit a late fg or Fla missed one.

UT has a good shot to play Florida close and get em late because Florida is struggling right now. But I can also see a young team come out of the gates slow and make a few costly mistakes early after a tough, emotional loss at Georgia. Not sure exactly what to think about this game. Just know there's no way I'm predicting a for-sure win for Tennessee, much less a freakin blowout.

I'd feel more confident if UF's defense didn't look like hot garbage.

Would be great for UT to get that kind of a lead.

My concern is as in years past. "IF" Florida get's a lead, does the streak rear it's ugly head causing the crowd and team to think "here we go again...sigh" mentality? Based on what I have witnessed the past few weeks against OU and UGA, team 118 will not accept being down by 10 to 14 call it a day.
