With our schedule we should go over WV or Lville. Who would deserve it more than the Vols? Fla ok, Mich, Ohio St., I say it should be the winner of Ost. and Mich. game and the winner of the SECCG. I just wish it were us.

As loaded as we are this year, it would be a travesty if a SEC team gets passed over for a Big Least team.

Georgia....why oh why couldn't you just have not gone into that game cocky and ended all of this Big East title talk long before it started.

IF we win out we should be considered. Will we be considered ___NOPE___ BUT if we beat LSU and ARK. then that would have us playing 5 ranked teams w/ a 4-1 record against them the only loss being by 1 stinking point. If that does not earn respect i dont know what else to say....

Cmon guys. Let's be realistic here.

We are a much improved team. But not a National Championship team. Not yet....

yes our remaining schedule has to be one of the hardest left.

For a program like UT the expectations are to compete for a NC every year. I agree that its a bit premature but you never know what will happen.

NCG talk is premature.

IF we win out, our chances of making the NCG lie somewhere between "Almost Impossible" and "Improbable." We would need about 25 things to fall perfectly.

Stranger things have happened, but I think I will refrain from the mental task of running the probability matrix until after our trip to Fayetteville. If we emerge from NW Arkansas with only 1 loss, I will break out the abacus and slide rule.

If you win out, but don't get to the SEC Championship game, it's not going to happen. If you do and win though, I don't see why not.

In all honesty i think it does not matter who else goes to the NCG Ohio State will kill whoever it is.
That team has it all.

If everyone else ahead of us loses, then yes...

However, if Michigan and Tosu are undefeated when they face off, and the game is decided by 6 points or less, I think they should face each other in the BCS National Championship Game. I know this will not happen, however, they are clearly the two best teams in the nation.

I've got that number down to alot less than 25. And "almost impossible" and "improbable" is not what I would call them. The difference between #2 and #3 in the BCS is more than double than the difference between #3 and #11. It is a guarantee that either WVU or Louisville will lose on Thursday. It is very probable with the remaining schedules of the teams higher than Tennessee that one of them will get upset in the next few weeks. And, other teams playing low ranked teams will drop in the computers just for showing up. Auburn has dropped from having a 5.75 comp. avg to 8.00 just for playing the last 2 weeks. If the Vols beat LSU and Arkansas the next 2 weeks, they'll almost "Certainly" be in the top 5 of the BCS within range to move up. Both Vanderbilt and Kentucky are ranked high enough in the computers that they will not hurt the Vols this year. However, I do think the Vols will have to win the SECCG to get into the BCS title game. It hinges on Florida being able to get by @Vanderbilt and South Carolina. Meyer is 2-4 on the road since becoming coach at Florida. And Tennessee can attest to how good South Carolina has gotten this year. Florida is only averaging 22 pts per game against SEC competition.

then they should go before we do. it gets old year after year to always hopes somebody else beats florida because we drubbed out toe. i think our chances of even getting to the SEC title game is now gone with georgia and their turnovers. getting to a good Jan 1 bowl is very likely with us running the table.

Nothing personal fellas, but I don't think any SEC team is NC caliber this year. Of course, I'm basing this on the fact that we've all beaten the crap out of each other.

But barring a loss by Michigan or Ohio State, I don't think UT or any other SEC team should go there, regardless of who wins the SECCG.

I sincerely think there's a battle for #2 to decide who gets the honor to lose to OSU this season. I don't know that they're beatable.

Of course, that's what they said about OU in 2003 leading up to the Big XII CG.

Considering that they play each other, I will guarantee that will happen. Otherwise, I agree with your assessment.

If we win out and Florida wins out, we should get ZERO consideration. If you don't win your conf. title game, you should have ZERO consideration. NONE.

Tell that to OU 2003.

Should and would are regrettably two different things.

MAN that should been LSU v. USC.

If Auburn can't get in and they are 13-0, I doubt UT somehow squeaks in while not even going to the SEC champ. game.

I don't have a lot of confidence in the BCS. More times then not, the team playing in the weaker conference gets preference.

I still think the polls are crap. WE nee to start worrying about climbing the ladder before we talk NC. I just hope Fla. Looses to either SC or Vandy, so we will have a shot at the SEC Championship. WE are going to have to play better than we did Saturday in Columbia. I was there and It wasn't pretty until the Fourth Quater.
All I'm expecting this season is a decent Bowl and look towards a NC next year.

If we win out we probably play Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl.

It would be awesome if a miracle happened and Florida lost to Vandy and SC.

Then we could go to the SECCG, and our opprortunities would improve greatly.

The number 1 priority is beating LSU this week.
