If Worley started, do we win?

If Worley had started, would we have won?

If, if and if. Worley should start the rest of the season. He and the WRs will improve as the season progresses with more familiarity with the new system and with each other--barring injuries. The last interception was a desperation pass and the receiver was not open so he did a Hail Mary.
We need for someone on the defense to step up and hold the edges. Florida killed us on 3rd downs getting outside our DEs.

Hell no. You would have thought Peterman and Worley still had the Ducks on their mind with as many as they threw. They both suck. It's like torture watching all the bad decisions and horrible throws. I know we would have to take our lumps and there will be plenty but, sheesh.

We coulldn't get out of our own way on either side of the ball, but once Driskell was out and they had a decent qb, the writing was on the wall.

Yes without a doubt. Peterman was not even close to being ready to playing in that type of atmosphere. I feel like Worley would have managed the game a whole lot better and would have put us in a better position to win the game. JMO

I'm not sure, but if we were offered a do-over with Worley as the starter I'd take it.[/QUOTE

It would be a whole different ballgame for sure. I'm starting to not like our (Butch"s) offence, I hope he just needs his guys to run it. I miss the Pro style.

Not to mention he threw 2 picks in the 2nd half himself.

The 2nd pick on the last play of the game doesn't really count imo. Our offense ran much smoother with worely under center. Plus we all remember Peterman's 2 picks, but he also had a pair of fumbles.

He had 4 turnovers and 5 passing yards. We could have taken a knee every offensive play and had more points at halftime by about 6.

I miss the pro style offense. If im the coach I let Worley throw all game next game so he can gain confidence in game speed. Ferguson should be #2 going into next week.

If I had voted "yes" in this poll, this would be my starting argument. Even hyams seemed to think the game would've been winnable with worley starting. I found that surprising

Worley made some huge strides in the game today. He made some big throws. Maybe being benched this week was good for him.

I think we would've won. but there were a lot of problems beyond QB. The playcalling was worse than Randy Sanders on a bad day.

His first pick he was trying to throw the ball out of bounds, needed to step into it.

Yep. I'm pretty sure he couldn't step into it because our guard and Easley were in his lap.

Yea or nay?

I think we do better, but not win. Did you notice that in the second half, North & Pig were catching passes, but with Peterman, no one caught passes?

Had Worley played the entire game, it would have been a closer game. However; the penalties killed us. Also, had we scored some points when Florida fumbled the ball, it would have been nice.

A field goal, after every Florida fumble, and we are in business.

Yes.....first half. The penalties and the turnovers are stuff Worley wouldn't have done.

Take 7 off the board for UF and put at least 6 on for UT. That is saying Palrdy goes 2 put of 3 and UT doesn't score a td on the other turnovers.

Then we don't force stuff at the 4th quarter.

I think this kind of says Worley or bust the rest of the year. I was hoping they would put Worley in to start and then pull him if he struggled....not the reverse.

I don't think so, but I think we definitely lead at the half and that it's a game til the end.... not over early in the 3rd. Peterman and our team's lack of mentsl toughness was just too much to overcome.

Vols win if they don't knock Driskell out of the game. He's immobile due to knee and not good enough passer to beat you just chucking it. Mobility of 2nd team guy picking up long 3rd down conversions on broken plays was difference in game. Driskell never makes those plays.

I would say he made some little biddy strides today, but if you couple that with some more strides next week, it might just be enough ---eventually---to get us to a bowl game.
