go to an F1 race. you will have a whole new appreciation for what those cars are capable of if you see it in person.

What race did you see? Your appreciation for NASCAR is nice but your distain for other forms of racing is questionable. Would like to know what turned you off.

I went to the San Marino track in about 2000 or 2001. Can't remember. Schumacher won the race over Hakinnon (sp?). Only draw back is the view from the cheap seats sucked. NASCAR has the advantage on F1 in viewing an event live. But as far as skill and racing, F1 ranks over NASCAR in speed, engine power, and skill required to get a car around the track.

the sophistication of F1 was probably over his head. i'm curious to know what makes NASCAR so much better, and 'if you ain't rubbin, you ain't racin' won't work here.

the standing start when the lights go off is one of the most amazing things in all of motorsports.

Montreal Canada June 2005. I had fun, but like I have said I just do not favor it over Nascar. I never said they werent more powerful or faster. We will just have to disagree on the skill part of it. Why cant you people respect an opinion. I never questioned your like for F1, and find it very disrespectful you guys questioning my preference for Nascar :hi:

Any race where you can see the whole track.

I'd have to think watching F1 on TV is a lot better, since you'll see the cars more often/other than when they're right in front of you.

I'd much rather just stick to TV for all races, though.

No disrespect was given or intended. Nothing but an exchange of strong opinions here.

I dont know a whole lot about the history of F1. Does anyone have 200 wins like Richard Petty? Has anyone else won seven championships like Richard Petty or the Late Dale Earnhardt? This is not a smart a$$ question, I just dont know. I know Schumacher was great, but I dont know his stats. Andretti either for that matter

Schumacher has 7 world titles. he also has 91 wins in 250 career starts. he has 154 podium finishes (1-3). he has a winning percentage of 36 percent. he was on the podium 61 perecent of the races he started. of his podium finishes, 91 were wins therefore, when he was on the podium, 60 percent of the time it was because he won. compare that to 200 wins in 1184 (16%) for Richard Petty. Dale Sr. only had what, 76 wins.

impressive when you consider the average F1 season in about half that of a NACSAR season.

Mario Andretti is the only race car driver to win the Indy 500, the Daytona 500 and an F1 World Championship. he has also won 4 CART championships. he also had many more Indy 500s on lockdown before some sort of mechanical failure put him out.

while the accomplishments of Petty and Dale Sr. are certainly amirable within their sport, saticstically, Schumacher was the greatest race car driver ever. Andretti was probably the most diversified race car driver, followed closely by Emerson Fittapaldi and AJ Foyt.

one could also not make an arguement for best race car driver without also considering Rick Mears, Al Unser Sr., Jeff Gordon, and Tony Stewart. the only thing missing from the latter two's resume would be a Borg Warner Trophy to add to their collection. unfortunantley, when Smoke drove in the IRL, he drove for the most snake bitten team in all of motorsports or else he would have one right now. Smoke did manage to win an IRL title.

Schumacher is the man. If you like race rubbin' he is one that was not well liked by other F1 drivers for his borderline tactics of cutting and actually rubbing other cars to get an advantage.

Talladega is a spectacle. John Force also has to be considered one of the greats. Supercross racing is awesome.
