P Manning - the greatest offensive coordinator in the NFL. Unfortunately we have to wait a few more years until he is available. Fortunately in the meantime we get to enjoy watching him toy with NFL defenses and break every record known to mankind.

Even though I don't agree with OP, I see what he's saying. If Gruden turns us down this time, doesn't that make 3 times? It's like we're the nerdy kid trying to get a date to the prom. Just keep on asking/begging as if we are desperate. Which I guess we are thanks to Fulmer/Kiffin/Dooley. Gruden or not this is a very important hire for the program. We have to get it right, so we can recover from the previous 5-7 years. Here's to hoping Gruden is Knoxville bound..Spider 3Y Banana 2013

THIS PROBABLY IS NOT KOSHER BUT, IF GRUDEN DOESN'T WANT TO COME TO UT WELL I DON'T WANT HIM. I WANT ANOTHER MAJORS OR A FULMER WHO LOVED UT.:hi:
If you don't want to come...then leave? :loco: Think about what you just said and try again. How do you leave when you are not already here, in the first place?

This deserved it's own thread because......?

Then you are already a happy man since we have CDD who loves UT. And this love story will get even better if CDD survives this year and starts winning next year - then he will be around to continue loving UT (and for us to continue loving him) for a long time.

If sarcasm, well played. If not Dooley does not love UT. No person could do to this school what he has done and love UT.

No sarcasm and I wander why you think Dooley does not love UT? Do you define love only in terms of W's and L's? I don't and try to look at the bigger picture. In my mind I feel like CDD has worked extremely hard trying to get the program back to where it deserves to be. Results have not worked out so far but that does not minimize the fact that he gave it his best shot. Look at how hard he recruited (to get Hunter, Rogers, CP after Kiffin left the disaster here it's enough of a proof). Also, since CDD has been here he has tried a lot of different things to shake things up and accelerate the program recovery - it's unfortunate that things take longer than we all want but I still believe things are moving in the right direction (with defense we had last year we would right now be sitting on one loss and waiting to play Bama for the SEC championship).

Dooley is paid to love UT. He grew up in Vince Dooley's house. The defense's issues have to be on him as well. Why would all of those assistants turnover if they thought he was heading in the right direction? Our recruiting has deteriorated each year he has been at the helm as well.

According to your logic are the only people who could love UT former players or students? CDD clearly has huge respect for UT and SEC in general - and that is because he grew up in Vince Dooley's house - what is wrong with that? As far as assistants leaving you are right - but it's not because of him heading in wrong direction but instead because of perceived instability of his job. And if our recruiting has deteriorated how was he able to land CP who was #1 out of juco's (in addition to McCullers, Sentimore, Pig, etc - all good talent)?
