Give the guy a break. He's human , too(with a family).

A human with 2 million in salary. That will take care of his family. Who is going to take care of our football team? :dunno:

I honestly don't know if Fulmer's time is done. He's been here a long time and we've been more successful during his tenure than most other UT coaches.

For those of you that want him gone here's my question:

Are you ready for the inevitable drop-off (at least for the short-term)? It is rare that a top-tier program replaces a long standing, successful coach and actually gets better.

How long will you give the new guy?

That is a good question. If it is a good hire, IMO that means they are articulate, and have a history of turning programs around or running prolific offense, then it is only fair to give them 7 years. That is how long RS has had to find a QB and run this offense.

My hope is that CPF can pull this off without leaving, by hiring someone who may know more about offense than he does. That beeing said, I just don't know if it will happen.

I agree it starts at the top, but he does have an overall high winning (profit) percentage. You can't kick that kind of a CEO out the door, at least I can't. He has proved that he is capable. Emotions shouldn't rule the company. I amm as disappointed as anyone but we can still win with Fulmer. I'm not sure about any of the other coaches. I mean, Chavis has done great job but Spurrier has always completed long third downs on him, I do think we should keep him. As far as Trooper goes, well, two different running backs losing the ball in route to scoring, is that Fulmers fault ,too? Shouldn't they be taught to lock up the ball with two arms especially around the goal line. Randy or someone is making horrible play calls.

The problem is that earning reports come out quarterly and are based on current trends. Based on the current trend, if the CEO does not downsize the offense, or change its course it will continue to bring quarterly earnings reports down.

Chavis on the other hand has been pretty productive. The jury is still out on TT, but it is evident that the offense is on a slide. I am not calling for CPFs head, but I am hoping he is willing to make necessary changes.

I support Phil Fulmer!!! It's Randy Sanders that needs to go!! We haven't had a REAL OC since Cutcliff left for OLe Miss. Randy Sanders offense makes me sick! :yuck:

I'm glad to see that a little more thinking has gone on since last night. People say how things have gone down since '98... I hate to tell you but Fulmer was the Head Coach before that. I'll tell you who WASN'T the OC before that... CPF's loyalty to Sanders worries me, but I don't think he has any choice now. The guy (Sanders) has to go.

We are coming to a consensus, and that is good. Lets hope this forces CPFs hand.

I started to think that things were going wrong 4 years ago when Banks ran the HEADLESS CHICKEN OFFENSE against UGA. I never saw a player so unprepared to take over an offense. INEPTNESS was everywhere that game and has been since. Last night the announcers said that bad play was to blame for many of the problems. Either way it is a reflection on the coaching staff. A manager can make bad decisions and a manager can not train his employees to do the job well. A manager can be a bad motivator leading to bad results, especially when 13 players are arrested on the off season. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF CHANGE IS NOT IN THE FUTURE? If I was a wide receiver coming out of high school there is no way in HE!! I would come to UT. iF i WAS A HIGH SCHOOL QB I would not come to UT. Undeveloped players, unmotivated players, underperforming players, and a million excuses from coaches means the COACHES HAVE NO CLUE and THERE NEEDS TO BE CHANGE.

Yeah, I think we've seen almost eye to eye the whole time, but just didn't realize it. I certainly think change is needed, but not as drastic as a HC change.
