If you want serious change with Heisman

I think UT should release a press release that we no longer wish our athletes to be considered for their fake award as their voters clearly do not care about having the best representation at the award ceremony. The other 3 we get but Stetson Bennett ahead of Hendon Hooker is just a slap in the face.

He would surely be in line for recognition for An Overachiever award, but not the best ball player in NCAA football. Maybe they need to establish a threshold and not award one every year.

At the end of the day it was the injury that cost him the Heisman, we can blame it on this or that or whatever but historically injuries have always been the end of Heisman runs, Hendon was deserving of being a finalist even tho injured but thats just not how it ever plays out, if we continue to play the way we did this year we will have others who are in consideration.

But Tua won the year he was injured. I seem to remember him going to New York on crutches.

It originally was supposed to be for the 'best athlete' but journalist and bias has ruined the award over the yrs and now you have to be a QB or RB to win it, except for the year Manning was jobbed. Look at some of the past winners to see how corrupt it is. Geno Torretta comes to mind and some others that were not even good enough to have an NFL career.

Its not the award it should be or to get upset about. Hooker has better things to accomplish.

If we beat USCe and Hooker didn't get hurt, he wins. That didn't happen. Emailing Nissan is just sour grapes....

The award like other peoples words have no more power over you than you allow it too.

Forget about the award and just let it just mean nothing to you.

I have not really devoted any thought to it whatsoever since 98 and I can't tell you that I care about it anymore.

This all day long.

I don't actually care. The whole notion is a farce so you shouldn't be surprised when the process becomes a corrupt joke.

Is it really possible to choose the "best" player in the country? Can you do it without considering the talent around them? Can the best player be on a 6-6 team? Can someone on a 12-0 team look like the best player and not be?

Being disappointed with the treatment of Hooker is frustrating... being surprised by it is just naive.

I hated it for HH more than for TN. There have been years I thought other players from rival teams were more deserving and they would lose.

Our game against Georgia was hyped up and I am sure most of the voting journalist were watching. Hooker didn’t have a very good game (for him) and Stetson played a good game leading Georgia.

The only thing that gets under my Skin about this is that Hendon Hooker is the prototype of what a Real Heisman Candidate should be in today's game.

It is not always about the numbers on the field and his are by far above and beyond those requirements especially when you compare others that are attending.

His Storyline is also someone you would think would be deserving of the Heisman with is Medical and overcoming the not good enough to start or hold the position.

What's more is his off field actions, his book, community interactions and leadership. Help Others which sets great examples of overcoming adversity and is a perfect Example of a College Athlete.

Did he have Heisman moments yes. Several times, with a defense of any caliber he may have had others against GA & surely USCe.

Injury or not he deserved this moment, but with territorial media and coaches it was not going to happen.

The blame game continues. HH is a good QB for what we have had recently. I agree that the Heisman is BS, look at what they are choosing from. HH is not a NFL QB. He isn't the best runner. I know he ran in college football but the NFL would shut him down quickly and he isn't the best in the pocket. HH thanks for giving us your all. It has been a fun year and I wish you the best in the future.

I think you are wrong in several areas... but what you failed to mention that it is just your opinion which it is.
Try again at a later date.

Email Nissan and put the pressure on this Tennessee based Corporation that sponsors the Heisman. I guarantee you they employ a lot of Tennessee graduates in Franklin, Smyrna, and Decherd. I used to work in Franklin over 10 years ago and both my parents retired from them. In college, I also worked on the line in Smyrna during my first two summer breaks. They are not involved in the actual selection process but Nissan could share feedback if thousands of fans start bombing them about it.

Here's a novel idea: Don't Watch It. Quit Reading About It As Well. End of Story.

The Heisman is meaningless. Even if our players won the next 10. We have been able to look behind the scenes more than ever at the mindset of voters. You see that some take all their votes as jokes. Some are obstinate (guy who wouldn't vote us ahead of Alabama no matter what, guy who had Notre Dame in his top 10 and us at 14 most of the season.) Some writers take it seriously but far too many don't. It also moved away from the best player to being a good player on the best teams.

Worst vehicle I ever owned was a Nissan Quest. In football terms, that van stayed on the disabled list. 😠

My daughter owned one and the transmission went out. Would cost about half as much as it was worth to fix it.

My brother owned a Rogue. Same problem, CVT transmission.
