The perception is that we run a pass happy offense that is unfavorable to RB's. We saw last season that isn't the case, but these transfers don't follow Vol football religiously. It's a much easier sell to high school players who you have time to build relationships with.

I like who we have but we stay pretty banged up at the position. We seem to be going against Oregon for a lot of guys this year.

50% of the culture comment is probably similar to the "we didn't want him anyway". I'm not saying it's the case here but it makes a good fallback. It's the slick wording of the era.
