'20 IL S Antonio Johnson

Yeah... I'd call him a soft verbal based off that video.. "Networking, trying to get guys to my team, really just networking"-- (didn't specifically mention Tennessee).. Hasn't met up with HB yet.. Alabama was(/is) the #1 school.

Hate to sound so pessimistic on this one. Hope he stays, but he just doesn't seem as solid to Tennessee as HB/Cooper/Keshawn

Antonio Johnson is one of those elite DBs, and he committed. When he says, "Networking, trying to get guys to my team..." his team is Tennessee.

Cool, either way I'm not concerned at all about DB recruiting.

Recruitment: I am going to throw in a bonus projection in here because although Rivals100 safety
Antonio Johnson committed to Tennessee earlier this month, he made it clear while in Atlanta that he plans to take additional official visits and his verbal is a soft one. Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M, among others, are all still coming after Johnson, and he is planning to take official visits to each of those schools in the fall. Johnson made the pledge the same night his teammate,
Javontez Spraggins, committed to Tennessee, so the Volunteers have additional leverage here to keep Johnson in the fold. They are still my odds-on favorite to sign him in December, but it will be a dogfight to get it done.

Prediction: Tennessee
- Rivals

I need clarity on the above. Am I reading that Jonhson made it clear his commitment is a soft one? Or is the writer implying because Johnson is going to take visits, the commitment should be considered soft?

I think we already knew this one wasn’t a “hard” commit. Both he and Spraggins were spur of the moment commits that will continue to make visits.

If a kid is still openly camping/visiting then it’s clear his commitment isn’t set in stone.

The Ansley relationship keeps them both here I think.

Yeah I guess I got a false sense of security when they mentioned how long of a relationship he had with Ansley. Plus honestly if you’re a DB I can’t think of two better coaches to play for if you got big plans.

I clearly over estimate that. You’d think we’d be fighting off 5 star corners with a stick with Pruitt and Ansley.

I’d love to keep them both, but we’ll be fine either way. Especially at DB. I wouldn’t be surprised to see CJP take both Robinson and Leonard with the anticipation one of those two or Spraggins will flip before NSD. That’s what I would do.
