‘23 IL WR Carnell Tate (Ohio State commit)

Truthfully, IMG is a bit overrated. They literally hoard 4 and 5 stars and still lose 1 game a year.

But once the 5 star, WR, OT, and Edge commit to us, it's irrelevant

They'll get the development they need.
This coaching staff produced 4 NFL draft picks in their 1st year.

IMG is a revolving door of talent. These kids aren't playing together for 3-4 years in most cases so they can still be beaten by a team that isn't as equally talented. They do however, do a great job of preparing kids to transition from high school to college by creating necessary habits and a regimented routine.

It's an opinon of mine that is definitely opened to be changed. Lately more IMG guys have been getting drafted.

And yeah you're right, and i think that's part of the problem. I don't like academies, because those guys didn't come up together.

Where I was from....we made friends with the best players from the opposing teams we played throughout pee wee ball.

When high school came around our freshman team dominated the freshman schedule and half us earned starting jobs on varsity by the end of freshman year. Won state as SRs.

I could even support guys from around the state playing super team for 2 seasons like Oakland did.

But IMG? it's bad for the game imo...
You got these studs that are "crowned " the greatest of the greatest before they ever hit a college campus.

Overrated? How so? Kids come there from all over the country to get developed. Most kids that come out of there are more polished than the typical high school player. Are you talking overrated as a team or in developing kids?

Again like he said they’re getting good habits, nutrition, coaching, etc to be successful at the next level.

Both.

Look at the amount of 4 star or higher they have for each class.
Then compare that to say Clemson or Alabama, Ohio State.
THEN count how many were drafted into the NFL.

That's what's crazy about IMG. If all their seniors went to the same college, say Kent State. Then Kent State would have a Top 15 class...

They should never EVER lose in high school.

In principle, yes, that should be a great thing.

To me - at least- it just seems like they're not producing or preparing these elite talents to their capacity. Which is the point of their existence.

Look at what you just said. And they still lose 1 game a year. That’s like saying Bama is overrated if they lose 2 games in a year. Regardless of the talent you have on the field it’s extremely difficult to go undefeated and steamroll everyone all the time.

No.

Because we're talking about high school. not college. Bama has beaten UT 14 times in a row all the while UT has averaged a top 15 class over that time period...

IMG should be beating teams 100-0 even with their planned schedule.

Probably would be a 100-0 if not for playing SFA. There’s other schools that are loaded as well.

Come on man really? That’s your argument for saying they are overrated? Because they just don’t slaughter every team? Even in high school it’s hard to crush everyone every year. You should know better than this.

Okay so you can debate IMG and whether kids get star bumps... but this kid is "rated" at a true 5*... and has all the tools... so I don't care if his ranking is fluffed a bit and he may actually just be a 4*, it's still a huge talent pickup and a solid high 4* with tons of talent and growth... I'll take this all day.... He will do VERY well for us in this offense.

It's not the only one.

I already explained the other and main reason i think that. I don't like repeating myself...

I agree.
And I've said this already.

As well the 5 star OT and M'Pemba if we get him.

It doesn't change that IMG falls short of its intended purpose.

To be clear AGAIN.

I'M VERY HAPPY IF WE GET THIS KID.

SFA is loaded, but not like IMG.
And SFA smacks them around. That's kind of my point.
St Thomas Aquinas actually beat SFA last season
