I'm not giving Jones the benefit of the doubt, like I did with Dooley. In order to win me over, he's going to have to show me progress, and wins. There is nothing else that is acceptable. To me, the UTAD took a big dump on the fanbase with this search, and showed it's desperation with the hire, and impatience.

Call me negative, call me whatever you will like, but I honestly think we will be back here again in 3-4 years, and if they haven't learned their lesson for a 3rd time at getting it right, then they never will.

Just being honest. :hi:

Call me a negavol too. People are already making excuses for why we're going to suck for many years to come. Being realistic is not being a true fan I guess. You have to accept mediocre or worse teams that don't compete year after year to be a true fan. Wanting better is being a negavol.

Not calling you negative, but with the players probably leaving to the NFL and at Oregon, at Florida, and at Bama... Next season will probably not win you over.

Garbage hire. Hope this doesn't ruin Jones' career. He is in way over his head. Dooley could win where Jones came from.

This hire has been like hitting F5 after the dooley hire. It's the same story with a diffrent name.

Well, for starters, he's won everywhere he's been. That's a good sign.

He's also followed Brian Kelly everywhere he's been, and Kelly has built up the program. Dooley is going to leave this program is possibly worse shape, than he found it. Jones has never built a program from the ground up, he's just maintained success.

I am with you. I will not be pro or con either way. I have to see what happens. We need progress in the right direction. I want wins but I know we will have losses. the way we win and loose in the short term will tell the tell. We need to see the staff that is put together and what happens in recruiting as the next steps. I know many were wowed by the PC but it is what should be expected. It is just saying the right things to the audience. Same way politicians get elected they know exactly what to say. If anyone does not believe me go back and watch Dooley. He made a big deal of not giving "sound bites" to the media like Kiffin. Then that is all he did for the next three years.

He just has to earn it, winning fixes everything.

I'm not sure that's possible.

yes it has been. i think at some point you just have to resort to hope, man. if you cant find even a teaspoon of it, then there is no point in watching. no excuse for the crap the AD pulled. thats a different story, but our coach is our coach now. most of us are just hoping for the best.

Did you even think before you typed this? The program is in worse shape than it was before? The only thing that has gotten worse in the last three years is the fan bases inability to be realistic and realize that the big name coaches and recruits aren't going to come to UT just because it was the place to be in the 90's.

Rogers, Hunter, Jackson, Bray, Malik Jackson, Rivera, and others are all going to be gone by next year. Even McCullers is probably gone. Trust me, it will be worse.

Badly worded. I was talking about what he had in his first season, not just this year. Sorry. :hi:

We might get close in some areas, but like I said . . . I don't think it's possible to be less talented than we were in 2010. At the very least we'll have 10-15 more bodies on scholarship in 2013 than we had then.
