I'll be honest....

We might get close in some areas, but like I said . . . I don't think it's possible to be less talented than we were in 2010. At the very least we'll have 10-15 more bodies on scholarship in 2013 than we had then.

We played better in Dooley's first year, than his last, as far as intensity goes. It's not about bodies, it's about quality of talent, and there won't be the quality here to start next season.

Rogers, Hunter, Jackson, Bray, Malik Jackson, Rivera, and others are all going to be gone by next year. Even McCullers is probably gone. Trust me, it will be worse.

Next year "should" be a train wreck regardless of who coaches us. REGARDLESS.

Guess it is going to be a long winter, spring, and summer until we get to football season, then we can start all over again because it sounds like so many of you will expect a minimum of an SEC championship next year before getting on board.

It would really be interesting to know the success level of all these people who expect so much of coaches.

I agree with the op on some of his points. CBJ will have to earn my praises . I bought into Kiffin amd CDD and I will not get giddy just yet over someone I have no idea about. He said he is a hard worker we will see. Here is how he could get off to a good start for me : 1) Hire a great staff some with Tennessee ties( Martin, Jay Graham, Dale Jones) 2) Improve our recruiting (no more top twenties, top tens or we are screwed) 3) W's and steady improvement If he can do that I will have no problem with him and he will have my full support. I am a Vol till I Fall and always will be but that does not mean I have to praise someone untill they earn it. GBO!

When you're fielding a roster of about 60-65 players and everybody else has 80+, yeah, it is a little about bodies.

Plus we were awful at QB, LB and at the LOS on both sides in 2010. There's no way we're worse at those spots in 2013. We're also better at RB. Granted, the secondary is a disaster now.

At the end of the day though, this is like arguing if your Vega is better than my Pinto.

I've said before, I'm not a fan of Jones but I'll give him a chance. I have no choice, I'm a VFL. I've got to see some kind of improvement, first though.

Even if Gruden had come, we were looking at no more than 8 wins with him next year. We will be lucky to win 6 games at the most next year.

Agreed. I think CBJ was the best choice available NOW (after the rejections of course) and ONLY my opinion as there were other options I was ok with after the rejections from Strong and Gundy. :hi:

yes it has been. i think at some point you just have to resort to hope, man. if you cant find even a teaspoon of it, then there is no point in watching. no excuse for the crap the AD pulled. thats a different story, but our coach is our coach now. most of us are just hoping for the best.

When your the best then your the best. When your hoping for the best then your hoping for the best. This doesn't feel like the best but more like hoping for it. This is just killing time until UT get's serious about winning.

He will get more out of Memphis than Dooley ever thought about getting. That's one big positive. You can look at following Kelly's success as not a big deal but he continued with the success. The other candidates did not want to be here and were just after money or they would have come. He is also after money but wants to be here too. That's a simple way of putting it but less is more most of the time.

Hart said on the Radio today he never even got as far as interviewing Gruden. Tried to setup a meeting and Gruden told him he loved TN but was very happy doing what he's doing and didn't want any college job.
