I'm confused. I'm seriously trying to understand. This is a big issue. Ending the trail of the best and brightest into medicine is THE major weakness in any federalized plan. If the plan does that, which I believe any permutation will, it needs to be killed.

I can't imagine why anyone would go hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, give up 12 years of earning power, to try to become a GP. we're likely to have a doctor shortage in this country WITHOUT socialized healthcare, i can't imagine what would happen if this crap passes.

lawgator if they aren't going to check to see if they are american citizens (which the current bill says) how is that not covering illegal aliens? the dems are arguing semantics saying the bill doesn't say it covers illegals. well what the bill should say is that there are previsions to make sure only american citizens qualify. which it doesn't.

yes and it's the exact same language used in california for the hospitals and schools where they are not allowed to ask if they are american citizens. unless you have an established NATIONAL system in place and don't leave it up to the locals to enforce it you are basically making sure illegals will get coverage or at least they will get coverage in places like texas and california where the politicians rely on the mexican vote.

lawgaytor, you know it's not going to be enforced. Look cali. illegal will get coverage, not only that, next year if the dems are still in power, they'll attempt to change the law to give illegals more coverage. that's if hussein doesn't give them blanket amnesty first.
