I'd go to Shepler's and do some browsing/shopping, assuming it is still open. Many years ago, I ate a McDonald's in OK that had a full size replica bi-plane in the dining room. There was stool seating around the lower wings so you could use them as tables. Not sure if it is still around, but probably one of the cooler McDonald's I've seen.

Oklahoma can be a great place to visit if you have a local host. If not, it can be boring.

The hunting and fishing can be real good.
Eufaula is a really nice lake.
You can find a roping jackpot just about every night of the week.
OK is really tolerant of harmless vices if you keep a low profile and don't cause any other trouble. You can still find a cock fight or poker game most nights. There's not much to bet on right now but there is no shortage of bookies in OK.
Casinos on the Indian reservations.

Head to OKC. Visit the Stockyards and Bricktown.

I'm at Chisholm casino right now. Mt Scott tomorrow, then cutting a trail to Dallas on Friday.

Watch out for the wind.
I pulled a car trailer behind a van in West Oklahoma in a crosswind. When I went under an overpass and out of the wind on the interstate, the van dove straight right . I didn't realize that I was cranking the steering wheel that way to go straight when the wind was blowing me hard to the left when I was in the open.

That's a good spot. They serve alcohol. Some of the casinos don't.

It is frequented by more locals than tourists. Have fun but don't show your azz. It won't be tolerated.

You’re a long way from Commerce but if you head back to the northeast part of the state, pay homage to a legendary Vol.
The street named after him intersects with the street named after Mickey Mantle who’s birth home is in the town.
RIP Doug.

Clinton, OK is on I 40. There is an old single level motel practically on the interstate.
For an extra $40 you can stay in the elvis room. Elvis Presley actually stayed there one night.
The desk clerk couldn't believe we were from TN and chose not to stay in that room.
Boring drive for sure.

The wife is from Cherokee County in Eastern Oklahoma close to the Arkansas border. This is a very pretty area. Lakes, rivers, and big rolling hills. OKC with the red clay is pretty much an eyesore.

There is an abandoned town near Commerce, OK called Picher, OK. Interesting story on why it's abandoned and declared inhabitable.

OK City is kinda cool, lots of stuff to do there. Beyond that it's all hunting, fishing, and meth labs.

Great song—I actually love Oklahoma. Great hunting in the SW corner and panhandle. Love the people too—I spent sometime hanging around with friends at OSU in Stillwater in the mid 2000’s. Those cowboys know how to party.
